Blue Yellow Finned Botias16 Jan 2004 13:26 GMT3
Well, that's the common name, Blue Yellow finned Botia, scientific is Botia
Lecontei.
Just curious if anyone has one of these. I have a pair of them, aggressive
as heck. They're brave enough to chase a school of barbs, Acei Cichlids,

Is ICH and individual's disease?15 Jan 2004 15:16 GMT18
Is ICH and individual fish's disease or if one has it, the entire tank has
been infected with it?  Should I remove this individual and treat it in a
hospital tank, or do I need to treat the entire community?
Thanks

What to feed Ghost/Glass Catfish?15 Jan 2004 02:26 GMT7
I've just setup a new 20gal tank and am looking for my first few fish
to cycle it with.
I'll probably start with some Platys, but I really like the Glass
Catfish that I've seen at the LFS.  I've done some minimal research on

Is this an infection?14 Jan 2004 21:09 GMT4
Hi.  I have a well established 30 gallon freshwater tank with an under
gravel filter and a Penguin biowheel 170.  The pH runs about 7.  I
keep somewhat less than a tbsp of salt/5 gallons.  I keep the
temperature about 80F.  There is no ammonia or nitrites etc.  I have
Anyone know where to get realistic plastic plants ?14 Jan 2004 17:05 GMT5
I am setting up a new cichlid tank and, due to the veggie nature of
these fish and the fact that the tank is 24" tall, I'm contemplating
plastic plants instead of real ones.
Trouble is that most of the plastic plants I've seen look horrible. They
Barb behavior14 Jan 2004 16:46 GMT2
I have some barbs in a 20 gal and 2 of the orange ones lock noses and twirl
around , then one chases the other. The rest of the barbs seem to gather round
in a larger circle.Happens mostly in evening.  What does this represent? Is it
fighting/ agressive behavior or mating behavior ...

Eclipse 12 - Fungus Clear14 Jan 2004 13:28 GMT1
I purchased some new fish that came from the store with fin rot. I
droped a tablet of Jungle Labs Fungus Clear into my Eclipse 12 tank.
The box said to remove carbon from the filter so I took out my filter
pack. When should I return the filter (and carbon) the Fungus Clear

Since it seems I'm not the only one who has a digital camera and yet I still
can't take good pictures... I was helped by someone who had the same camera
and gave me a suggestion, but I must admit, I'm still clueless to how to
accomplish what said person told me... totally my fault.. ...
cause of cloudy water13 Jan 2004 17:28 GMT1
I have a 55 gal, lightly planted community tank with no CO2 or fertilizer
(yet), 2 HOT power filters together rated for over 100 gal tank filtration,
that has been up and running for about 6 months now. Just recently I've
begun to notice a slight cloudiness in the water, almost ...
Bio-Wheel Filters Question13 Jan 2004 02:25 GMT2
As far as I can tell, bio-wheel filters (eg Magnum) are not available in
Australia, yet you folks from the States seem to think they are the bees
knees.  Are they better than (say) Eheim or Fluval canisters?  And if so I
wonder why the hell nobody sells them here?
