Neon Question13 Jan 2004 00:45 GMT3
A friend of mine who has been keeping fish for 20 years or more told me
never to get Neon Tetras.  He said that they will eventually get Neon
disease and that it will wipe out the whole tank of fish.
If the Neons I buy don't have Neon disease, can they develop it?
Filter Changes?13 Jan 2004 00:38 GMT3
Quick question. I have a "hang on back" filter, one of the stupid ones
with the carbon inside of the cartridge that slips into the filter, and I
was wondering how often they need to be changed. I use to do it avidly every
second week but then noticed that at this time it's been ...
Salt question12 Jan 2004 22:46 GMT6
I would like to add salt to my tank for theraputic reasons.
I have a guppy with a suspected case of fin rot. I have
medicated the tank with two "Fungas Clear" drop in  tablets.
How much salt would be appropriate to add to my tank?
Is my molly lonely?12 Jan 2004 22:17 GMT2
Hi all. I bought two silver mollies a couple of weeks ago, a male and
female, but unfortunatly the female died two days later. I recently read
somewhere that they like to be kept in groups of 4. Will he be ok on his own
with the platys and hi fin swords? We are hoping to move ...
40 long or breeder?12 Jan 2004 21:30 GMT1
I am getting ready to purchase my 2nd tank.  Currently I have a 29 gallon
lightly planted community tank and have decided to make the new one either a
40 gallon breeder or 40 gallon long.  I am hesitant to get much larger than
this due mostly to weight concerns, as the only space ...

Filtered tap water12 Jan 2004 12:04 GMT2
I have a three-stage in-line tap water filter. One mechanical stage
followed by two activated carbon.
I think it is mainly aimed at removing bacteria from the water supply
for drinking.
old fishmate back after a year or more12 Jan 2004 11:10 GMT7
hi fishmates!
After a year or more, and a few computers later, i've gotten my act together
and joined the newsgroup scene again!  Did anyone miss me?  (dang, that
resounding 'NO' is deafening!)
Newbie - Eclipse System Question12 Jan 2004 05:20 GMT16
Hi, all!
Hope someone can guide me. I've tried to do my homework, but...
I bought an Eclipse System 12 and have it set up and running - plan to leave
it there for a week before adding my fish to it.
Fish comparison site?12 Jan 2004 01:33 GMT2
Does anyone have a link to site that will list some common fish with
comparison info, like temperature needed, aggression rating, type of food,
mature size?
I've been doing lots of searches but don't see a lot about types of fish
Egg care11 Jan 2004 08:37 GMT1
Well, trying my luck with cories, without trying. Salvaging eggs as I find
them and moving into a container.
So far I have a small air pump and air stone for aeration, and meth blue for
anti-fungus.
Snails and Salt11 Jan 2004 05:36 GMT1
Can apple snails survive in brackish water?
TIA.
Will amquel starve bacteria??11 Jan 2004 05:08 GMT8
Hi I have a question.  My tank is about 3 months old.  I went through the
cycling and everything with a very small ammonia spike a large nitrite spike
(10ppm).  Anyways, my water consistently tests with nitrite at 0 and ammonia
just barely detectable and nitrate less than 10ppm.  ...
Meth Blue and Carpet11 Jan 2004 03:07 GMT1
Hmm... anyone ever get meth blue on the carpet? And if so, what did you use
to get it out. Tried OxyClean so far, no go.
Cheers
black pl*co pix ?11 Jan 2004 01:38 GMT3
Hi all, about a week or so ago there was a post about feeding zuchini to
pl*co’s by method of fastening it to the glass with a suction cup. At that
time someone posted a site to some pix of pl*co’s feeding off a slice of
zuchini fastened in the afore mentioned method. In one picture ...
