I'm setting up a 55 Gallon tank and have a few questions. 1. I purchased a Filstar XP3 canister filter and was thinking of also getting a small Fluval or Eheim submersible filter to aid in filtration and as a backup. Is this needed or am I wasting my money?

| goby eating other fish? | 03 Feb 2004 13:53 GMT | 2 |
Yesterday we purchased a goby at a local aquarium store, being told it was a very docile fish and a good fit for our community tank (mostly livebearers and small tetra). However, upon introduction to the tank, it "accidently" killed a guppy (mistaking its tail for food) and then

I'm now five weeks in to cycling my tank. 12 days ago the ammonia spike ended and nitrites immediately soared. A couple days afterwards, nitrates appeared in large, but not dangerous quantities. Since then nothing has changed. Nitrites still off the charts,

| Crazy Guppy is in time out | 02 Feb 2004 23:35 GMT | 2 |
When I got home yesterday evening I noticed that the 2 new platys had stubby partially missing fins. Then I saw Crazy Guppy (CG) swimming along side one of the platys taking quick bites out of her fin. The platy was swimming really fast trying to get away, but CG just kept
