I've read information regarding lighting levels (watts/gallon etc) but am a bit confused as to how they relate to flourescent tubes. Is the 30w rating on a tube it's power consumption or light output, given that a tube outputs more light than an equivalent wattage tungston bulb?

one of my 2 female sword tails had fry about 30 days ago...i was told that in 28 days one of them would have fry again? i put the females in a breeder today....they dont appear to be really pregnant, but both do have somewhat black bellies, but not too bulgy. what should i do?

Can I add some crushed coral to my canister filter to help buffer the pH and raise gH or is it kH? CC won't affect carbonate hardness will it? or does it just affect general hardness... I always confuse the 2... I was thinking of adding it while the tank is being setup to help ...
