| Cleaning my Fluval Canister Filter | 13 Apr 2004 06:07 GMT | 7 |
I have a small set up at home with a Fluval 2 Plus canister filter. The instructions with regards to filter maintenance are unclear (or I'm stupid) so I'm seeking advice here. I did a 25% water change today and tried to clean the filter. I did

| Paradise Fish Update | 13 Apr 2004 05:17 GMT | 2 |
Well, I did some more in depth looking around and still couldn't find anything to help out with sexing juveniles so I called Aquarium Adventure and told them what's up. Packed the buggers in a jumbo ziplock beside another filled with warm water, wrapped it all in a towel and stuck ...

| pair of pygmy tetras? | 12 Apr 2004 18:21 GMT | 4 |
I've stocked my 75 gallon aquarium with various varieties of pygmy fish -- threadfin rainbows, honey gouramis, pygmy corys, dicrossus maculatus dwarf cichlids, and a few others. I could probably add a good number more to my fish load, but I'm not in

| how to make a tank divider? | 12 Apr 2004 17:58 GMT | 10 |
I'm on day 5 of having axolotl eggs, and they are starting to turn into little curly shapes, so at last I'm fairly sure the male did his bit and at least some of them are going to hatch. I want to divide the tank - the eggs are at one end, and I'd

| axolotl eggs! | 12 Apr 2004 17:44 GMT | 3 |
My axolotls have decided to get friendly! I've found eggs everywhere today! Now I've read the advice on breeding at Caudata's website, but I'd like to know if anyone has any anecdotes they can

| Frickin wires | 11 Apr 2004 23:30 GMT | 5 |
Ok, so here I am, three filters, air pump, heater and light, all on one tank. There's also a UV sterilizer. I separate the UV from the rest as this was the only company to realize that the equipment they produce, is used in an aquarium filled with WATER.

| new tank questions: biofilter, sand cleaning, guppy control | 11 Apr 2004 12:50 GMT | 4 |
i'm still in the planning stages of a 500 liter/139 gallon tank and i have a few questions. Recently, i asked the LFS for an estimate and on that estimate i saw that there was no "real" filter. Just a built in biofilter with some carbon and sponge. Maybe they missed on the

| kh test kit | 11 Apr 2004 02:26 GMT | 3 |
I had a kh test kit in my AP Freshwater Master Test Kit that I bought some time ago. Recently I bought a new one and realized that there was no kh tester in it. Does anyone know why they might have stopped including kh in the kit? Can't find individual kh locally. Hate to order ...

| Superbetta | 10 Apr 2004 18:49 GMT | 14 |
I've never heard of THIS happening before. When doing the morning feeding, I slide the tank cover slightly to drop the pellets. Well this morning my betta jumped out! And before I could react, he actually jumped back IN from the countertop!

| I need help in restocking my tank! | 10 Apr 2004 18:45 GMT | 6 |
I have a 10 gallon tank which currently houses a (huge) mystery snail, a columbian ramshorn snail, one ghost shrimp and one very small Leopard Danio. Over the last few months I've lost the other Danios and do not want to restock with them. Having only had Bettas and Danios I

| help with pygmy corys | 10 Apr 2004 18:27 GMT | 2 |
Over the past month, I've added 12 pygmy cory cats to my tank. Unfortunately, two of them have died in the past week or so. I think a third one of them is showing signs of weakness, and I'm worried he might not make it.

| Lost some fish | 09 Apr 2004 17:01 GMT | 7 |
This is my first post. I've had a couple pretty sucessful aquariums since about 1996 or 1997. Right now I have a 10g and a 30g. I had 3 tetras in the 30g when I decided to take the tetras out of the 30g and put them in the 10g.

| Tank Nuking.... BBA Eradication | 09 Apr 2004 10:40 GMT | 3 |
Continuing the Eradication of BBA thread, I've taken down my 29g that was pretty infested and did a total tank nuking with clorox.... I was hesitant, but that larger than life thread about it earlier, kinda persuaded me to look and see that I indeed needed to do something so that ...
