| NTD spreading to other fish | 12 May 2004 20:52 GMT | 7 |
I posted about a neon tetra changing to a solid white in the back half of his body, then dying. Now my new (who may be the cause?) betta is beginning to show that white solid coloring too! Am I going to lose all of my fish now??

| Black Beard (Brush?) algae | 12 May 2004 10:38 GMT | 5 |
I have been infested with a plague of this algae, on the heater, on the plants, etc. through my initial 10 gallon aquarium, and now with my 20. Any ideas how to get rid of it, apart from other plants to

| Dwarf Gourami not eating | 12 May 2004 02:23 GMT | 4 |
I have a 10-gallon aquarium, fully cycled via fishless cycling, ammonia = 0, nitrites = 0, nitrates = 20 ppm, pH = 7.2, some live and artificial plants, a big rock with holes, and a ceramic piece with holes. Last week,

| Funny bumps on silver dollars | 11 May 2004 23:59 GMT | 2 |
Greets all! I have two rather small silver dollars with several bumps on their skin. The bumps don't really look like warts, but instead are slightly tented like a "zit". The best way I can think to describe their size and shape

| Mystery eggs | 11 May 2004 23:57 GMT | 4 |
I have 29gal tank with 2 silver dollars, 4 Black skirt tetra and 3 cories. Recently I've find scattered eggs on each wall of the tank. They're white and in little groups. I have no snails in there that I know of and can't figure out who laid these. I'm suspecting it's the

| loach question | 11 May 2004 22:12 GMT | 4 |
I returned from 2 weeks out of town to find what looks to be at least 100 snails in my tank and I've read all the postings about snails and loaches. My tank is 29 gal high with small to med size gravel and has the following: lots of plants, 2 guppies, 4 platies, 1 marbled hatchet, 6 ...

| help with my zebra danio | 11 May 2004 20:35 GMT | 2 |
I'll admit I'm a newbie at this hobby. I have three of these danios. One has mysteriously bloated overnight. It has literally doubled in size, I'm afraid it'll split in two. It doesn't really swim any more, more like it bobs. I'm confused. The other fish seem fine. I have not seen ...

| Possible sick Angel | 11 May 2004 11:22 GMT | 2 |
I have a 29 gal tank with 4 angels. Have had for couple of years. Today noticed a solitary white raised spot and the upper part of one of my Angel fish just above the mouth. Any thoughts on what that might be and what treatment needed. Thanks

| consistant 0.1 ppm Ntirite reading in established tank. what's going on?! | 11 May 2004 04:01 GMT | 6 |
This is really starting to bother me. 18 days ago I added around 12 inches of fish to my 120 gallon tank, to go with the rest of the african cichlids that have been in the tank for almost a year. soon after I go a small reading of nitrite.. around 0.1-0.3 ppm. almost 2 weeks later ...

| Frozen beef heart | 11 May 2004 02:59 GMT | 9 |
One of the "treats" I give my fish is frozen beef heart (I think by hikari), but today I saw fresh beef heart in my local butcher shop. About $1.00 per pound compared to $8.00 for 24 cubes from the pet store. It is a much better buy to get it from the butcher, but I'm not sure ...

| Did I Take Out Too Much Gravel? | 10 May 2004 15:26 GMT | 6 |
I have a 10-gallon tank with Platys and Corydoras. Back in the fall, the LFS started me out with 15 pounds of gravel, which gave me a depth of around 1.5" in the bottom of the tank. I was having a hard time getting the gravel clean when vacuuming, so I've taken out a lot of it, ...

| Firemouth cichlids | 10 May 2004 02:56 GMT | 4 |
I have a 55 gallon tank and want to stock it with some cichlids. The firemouths are interesting to me. They seem to have a mild temperament compared to some cichlids. How many should I start with? What other fish could I keep with them?
