Lemon tetras05 May 2004 01:27 GMT2
Hey.  Been reading this group for a few days.  Great bunch of people here.
My sister had a lemon tetra that was very agressive - it bit the tail fins
off of two of her rummy nose tetras.  It was the only lemon in the tank, and
shared it with 2 dwarf frogs and the rummy nose.
Automated feeder04 May 2004 22:16 GMT6
I need to buy an automated feeder that will take care of feeding when
I have to go away for a period of three weeks. Can anyone out there
recommend a suitable unit for a 100 litre tank.
Thanks,
Nice community fish for top-level of aquarium?04 May 2004 18:20 GMT4
My long-established community tank is going to be needing a few top-dwellers in
the "near" future -- that level is currently inhabited by three old female
guppies (last male keeled over a few months back) and a lone long-finned zebra
danio that I somehow managed not to kill (I have ...

I hope you can answer this for me .  I recently purchased 6 cl. loaches, 5 of
them are normal, but one sports an extra blk. band directly under the dorsal,
it does not however connect and is distinctly seperate.  I have other cl.
loaches but all have the same 3 blk bands. this one ...

as they adults fish...
Whats the best advice to getting them to grow? And how long would/should it
Red bellied piranha for sale in a US petstore???? Ok to buy it?04 May 2004 00:14 GMT8
Hi -
I was browsing around the tanks at a local pet store (in the US) and I
came across a tank that had 1 small spotted fish with an underbite and
a redish belly. The tank was labeled "red bellied piranha". Isn't that
just got back from Newport Aquarium (neary Cincinnati)03 May 2004 19:50 GMT3
My wife and I went to the Newport Aquarium, which is in the Cincinnati
Ohio / Covington Kentucky area.
Very cool!  Besides their amazing large tanks, they have some small
biotope tanks (where here, small is probably 500 gallons?).  They were

planting and decorating03 May 2004 00:10 GMT4
i'm looking for info on how to decorate and plant a new aquarium.
For instance, how to build different levels, how thick the layer
of sand needs to be, how to anchor plants, stuff like that.
Anybody have any good links?
Small bowl heater?02 May 2004 13:08 GMT4
I've a male betta in a 4 litre / (1 gallon?)  bowl.
Like myself, he is not coping too well with the sudden onset of Autumn and
the drop in temperature, and has become lethargic.
He gets a full water change every week, the water is conditioned with ager
Dwarf Puffer02 May 2004 08:13 GMT12
I'm thinking of setting up a species tank, a Dwarf Puffer (Pea Puffer)
tank to be exact.  All the info I found on the web about these little
fish has just confused me.  I need to make sure I know what I'm
getting into before I go out and get some. I also need to know what
Neon tetra with severely damaged tailfin02 May 2004 05:28 GMT4
I had posted a few days ago about my tetra not eating. He was the sole
survivor out of a group of 5. Interestingly enough, I bought a few
more tetras today (neons and zebras), and he immediately perked up and
ate with the community. I guess it was just loneliness.
