Swordtail reproduction30 Jun 2004 14:58 GMT7
We bought 5 females.  Suddenly, one of them grew a sword and was a boy.  The boy
loved the girls and now we have babies all the time.  He got sick and we put him
down about 6 weeks ago, maybe longer.  The girls are still giving birth to
babies.
Question about filter30 Jun 2004 13:20 GMT5
OK, as mentioned in previous posts, I have replaced my Topfin 10 with a
Penguin 125 on friday night. After a couple days (since sunday/monday) I am
already getting some overflow back through the inlet tube area. Is this
normal for it to happen so quickly??
Mollys,Loaches and tail nipping30 Jun 2004 10:37 GMT6
Recently added 2 clown loaches to our 25gal tank which already had 6 mollies
and 7 guppies.
3 of the mollies were born in dec 2003 and i noticed one of the little ones
had a huge chunk of tail missing! Nurtured and cared for he is on the mend
Salt for guppies?30 Jun 2004 03:03 GMT1
Apologies if this is a really dumb question...
I don't have much space, so I was thinking of getting something small like
guppies.  The FAQ at thekrib says that they do best with some salt in the
water.

n. brichardi tank mates29 Jun 2004 14:49 GMT11
I have reserved 5 n. brichardi at my lfs and bought a new 60 cm tank for
them that at a rough guess will be holding a bit less than 50 litres after
rocks have been added.
A book I have and other internet literature suggests a 60 cm tank is ok. I

I though maybe people might want to have a look at this:

One must of course allow for guppies being small omnivores, and most
of the results are common-sensical (e.g. that a varied diet is better
Rainwater28 Jun 2004 23:37 GMT2
I live in rural Australia and our water supply is rainwater which we collect
into large tanks.  This is not a polluted area and the water is of very good
quality.
I have read in several places that rainwater is too pure to use unmodified
Attack Kilifish28 Jun 2004 21:34 GMT1
I am keeping some Bluefin Killifish with some  three inch goldfish.
One of the killifish has apparently decided that goldfish are good to
eat, keeps chasing and nipping at their tails.
Some of the killifish are learning to eat flake food, I have had a
Oscar Update27 Jun 2004 20:10 GMT2
Following my postings in two other threads I thought I would give some
feed back.
No-one thinks it was HITH. The good news is that the whitish shiny patches
are not even evident tonight so things have improved there.
RIP Little filter27 Jun 2004 19:32 GMT9
It seems to be a common theme recently. My filter died recently as well,
however it was only discovered last night at about 11pm. So today, I will
be picking up a new one. Any recommendations??
My current tank is a 10 gallon Top Fin. I had a Top Fin 10 filter on there,
75 gallon weight27 Jun 2004 01:52 GMT2
I've been told that I'm worrying for nothing, but just asking if a 75 gallon
tank is too much for an apartment floor.  It's a highrise built in 1969 with
concrete floors.
Any input would be appreciated.
Live Foods?26 Jun 2004 23:05 GMT3
I have now read many articles being a newbie on the hobby and was wondering
what peoples views are on live foods.
Most articles relating to individual fish state their food preferences and
in this for most fish it says to supplement with live food, I have also read

As some of you will know I am a newbie and have been cycling my tank for 5
weeks now, I am running 2 Fluval 4 plus filters.
After my spikes in my cycle I never really thought that the water was very
clear always a sort of cloudiness to the back of the tank, on Thursday I
