Has anybody seen this before. I have a Fluval 404. Have had it for over a year with no problems. I recently got a RainbowLifeguard 300 FBF & hooked it up inline with the output of my 404. Since that time I have had a small leak from the filter. I replaced the seal a week ago & all ...

| Marineland contacted me Bio Spira | 25 Jun 2004 20:12 GMT | 13 |
I had contacted Marineland about their packaging on the Bio Spira, and the need for some sort of "window" so you can see if the product has gone bad or not, and why it's so many packs were being sold spoiled, etc. Basically, I got the ol' I'll pass on your suggestion for the ...

Background: a few days ago I saw that some of my fish had minute spots on their fins and increased slime production _on one side of their body_. On either left or right they had like long white "blisters", and were sloughing off slime. The other side of their body looked

| How loud should a Fluval 404 be? | 24 Jun 2004 22:24 GMT | 11 |
I finally got my Fluval 404 up and running. It's my first canister filter, and I'm wondering if it's supposed to be as loud as it is. It stands beside the tank stand (ie: not behind doors) and I can hear it softly from about 15 feet away. I can hear it very well if I get within 5 ...

| Brand New 55 Gallon - What to do? | 24 Jun 2004 19:42 GMT | 4 |
Last night I aquired a 55 gallon tank from an add in the newspaper. For $150 I got the tank, a stand, the light, and two filters (and Eheim 2217 and a Biowheel). I know I need to get a new light to allow for high-light plants. I also figure that I need a way to add CO2,

| where do gill flukes come from? | 24 Jun 2004 19:26 GMT | 1 |
It looks like my gill fluke problem is back, even after two doses of Jungle's parasite tablets a few weeks ago. I just bought a canister filter and UV, so I'm hoping that once I install these (hopefully tomorrow night) this problem will go away.

I've had my 50g aquarium set up for about 5 years and now I am planning on taking everything out and setting it up again. I have few fish and they will stay in a smaller aquarium for a while. My question is: would I benefit from saving some (25 - 50%) of the water from the ...

My Oscars are coming down with something. The one had a shiny white patch(when viewed at the right angle under lights almost a marbled effect) and some white tufts protruding. Not sure if they were parasites - was definately not fungus. I did some reading, particularly about hole in ...
