My Pacu won't eat.12 Jun 2004 02:27 GMT3
I have a 3 year old Pacu that has quit eating.  About a week ago
I walked by his tank and startled him.  He banged into the side of the
tank and cut his top and bottom lip up.  I had been feeding him a mix
of cocktail shrimp, celery and apples.  Now he will come over to the
SERIOUS ethical question about what I've done11 Jun 2004 19:33 GMT27
So during last spring semester at college I lived in a frathouse with
the majority of my fellow brothers. On of the brothers is a complete
piece of trash. I mean real scum. This guy would skim hundreds of
dollars out of our dues fund to furnish his room and pay for his share

peat moss question10 Jun 2004 02:27 GMT3
My tap water is pretty hard, and I have to treat it with peat moss to reduce
the hardness so my plants will grow well. I'm not going to buy an R/O system
just for plants ...
I was thinking about putting peat moss in the media chamber of a power
We Made It To NY!!! (The Catskill Mountains Are Beautiful in June!)10 Jun 2004 02:03 GMT4
A few weeks ago I posted "Long Move with Fish - 1,300 miles - Need
help".  Well, we made it...barely!  I, my boyfriend, my dog, cat, 2
male Bettas and 3 snails.  Travel time was 26 1/2 hours.  The first
day was a breeze but second day we had the pleasure of getting caught
Please help with a new tank set-up09 Jun 2004 23:13 GMT13
I am setting up a new tank and am totally overwhelmed by the
information I've learned through reading and research.  I think I have
an idea of how to be successful but welcome any ideas and experienced
opinions about my plans.
How long do I use the white spot medicine ?09 Jun 2004 20:41 GMT10
I noticed some of the fish in one tank
(http://fish.alansilver.co.uk/Mark3/) occasionally flicking themselves
against the rocks. I couldn't see any white spots, but as this is
usually a sign of a parasite, I didn't want to take any chances and

Betta against filter: fun or fright?09 Jun 2004 00:53 GMT7
My betta has been doing so well now, I'm tickled to death. I had
posted on here before when I first got him that he was on his
death-bed, but he's come back strong and doing well!
Until now, he's been in a 10G tank with no filter. I would do a 10%
Platys Mollies and other live bearers09 Jun 2004 00:13 GMT12
When I was young - about a hundred years ago - I worked in a pet shop. At
that time we always used salt in the water for the Mollies, as they were
said to benfit from it, in fact wouldn't thrive without! Now I see the LFS
put salt in the tanks of all live bearers. Is this really ...

Can anyone tell me how to translate Grains Per Gallon of water hardness to ppm or GH?
