I am going on vacation for about six weeks, and trying to figure out a way to feed my five goldfish (2"-3") in a 55 gallon tank running one Emperor 400 and one Emperor 280 filters. This is the first time I will be away for this long. I have asked a friend to look after my

| What to do with an Eheim 2128 | 08 Jun 2004 07:01 GMT | 3 |
Ok, so I went out an purchased the canister filter of my dreams. Bought it on Ebay actually. The problem is that I've never had a canister filter and don't know exactly what to do with it. I need media for filtration but what do I buy? It should be here about

| Water Test Revalation | 08 Jun 2004 04:38 GMT | 10 |
Either I've just had a brilliant idea, or I've just caught up to where everyone else is. If it's the latter, I guess I need to go back to remedial fish keeping school. I've just started using a 5CC syringe (left over from when a sick ferret

| Tetra Easy Balance killed my fish....:-( | 07 Jun 2004 23:19 GMT | 5 |
Just a warning to anyone who decides to try this stuff - it killed 3 of my fish within 48 hours. I have a 46 gallon, established tank. After reading up on Easy Balance I decided to try it. The dose is one teaspoon per 5 gallons. I put 7 teaspoons

| Where to buy Malaysian Trumpet Snails | 07 Jun 2004 21:08 GMT | 17 |
I was reading up on Netmax's website (extremely helpful BTW), and I'd like to purchase some Malaysian Trumpet snails for the new tank I just set up. The problem is that none of the pet stores around here - including Aquarium Adventure - stock them. I generally got very weird

| Clown Loaches won't eat Top Fin shrimp pellets?? | 07 Jun 2004 16:49 GMT | 10 |
I ruined my 4 year old 20 gallon tank I think (Big hairy Algae problem) Haven't been paying attention to the tank enough. My 3" clowns don't seem to like the aformentioned FFood. (Granules de Crevette?) There is a picture of a clown on the label, so I don't get it. Assuming the ...

| Water Change Pump Recommendations | 07 Jun 2004 15:35 GMT | 9 |
My water change system calls for a pump that could pump 15G of water up 4 feet within a few minutes (around 5 mins). The pump would only be used once a week (for those 5 or so minutes), or as often as my one tank requires its water changed. Any recommendations for a cheap, yet ...

| Oh my. | 07 Jun 2004 14:37 GMT | 4 |
Hey there fishy folks. I know some of you idolize Faith from Bettatalk.com, but there are some things that, as a Betta breeder, I simply do not agree with. Don't get me wrong, she's created some fantastic lines, but some things she

| Via Aqua Pumps - Good, Bad, Ugly? | 07 Jun 2004 14:19 GMT | 5 |
I'm looking for opinions about Via Aqua pumps. I'm especially interested in getting the Via Aqua 1300 for very light duty work (ie: minutes of run time a week as part of a water change system). Does Via Aqua make decent pumps? Or am I throwing money away by getting one?

| Can a Java Fern or Jasper Rock be killing my fish? | 06 Jun 2004 19:59 GMT | 1 |
Well my Red Fish died after a year with me... After the funeral I got a new betta, this one is blue and named Jaws. Jaws was fine the first day, but this has quickly changed. Second day he ate, but hung out at the bottom. Today was worse: he wouldn't eat, and was laying

| Opinions on various pumps (Rio Aqua, Via Aqua, Quiet One, Mag) | 06 Jun 2004 03:51 GMT | 1 |
This is sort of a follow up to my previous message (Water Change Pump Recommendations). First, here are the requirements ... pump 15G of water up 4 feet in about 5 minutes. This will only be done once a week (ie: pump runs for 5 mins a week). So here's some of the pumps I've ...
