| What is Typical Cory Cat Behavior? | 06 Jul 2004 23:49 GMT | 6 |
I have three panda cory cats in a 20 gallon tank with two platys and one molly. I have the cory cats for about a year. About three months ago I noticed that the cory cats were spending nearly 100% of their time resting on the bottom of the tank amongst the plants. If

| Happy 4th of July to all | 06 Jul 2004 23:15 GMT | 9 |
As the title states, Happy 4th of July to all. On July 4th, Americans recieved many rights. Among those rights was the right to vote. Don't forget about this right when the presidential election in November comes around!

| ebo-jager question | 06 Jul 2004 15:29 GMT | 4 |
What's that little blue button on the top of the submersible jager heaters for? I don't see an explanation anywhere, although it probably said in the packaging that's long gone;) Mary

| Easy ant snack for my fish! | 06 Jul 2004 13:59 GMT | 5 |
Hey my fish seemed to really enjoy it. Bet the ants were bummed though. So here is what I did: 1. Just drink a can of soda and set the can down by an ant trail in

| Why would nitrite and or pH go up? What to do about algea & snails? | 06 Jul 2004 03:49 GMT | 3 |
Please be gentle if this is bad etiquette to cover so many issue in one post, but it is a biosystem and may all be related, right? Testing the parameters today I was very surprised that the nitrites were not zero. The ammonia was not clear, but then again the water is very green,

| What is cycling? | 06 Jul 2004 03:17 GMT | 2 |
What does it mean to have cycled the tank? My tank went from high nitrites to now high amonia. When I saw the amonia level I paniced and did a water change, but I am wondering how long of a turn around I am looking at and exactly what a cycle entails and what kind of time

| Tank placement | 06 Jul 2004 02:53 GMT | 1 |
I have finally convinced my family to let me get a tank for the kitchen counter top. It will probably be 3 gallons. I am used to caring for larger aquariums, (my smallest is 20g.) The first problem is the tank's placement. There would be a microwave on the same counter

| Are your fish members of your family? | 05 Jul 2004 19:56 GMT | 19 |
I ask, as I tend to get very attached to mine, most particularly my Bettas. When they get ill and pass I feel pain and sorrow, especially if I have had them for a time. I know my feelings are natural for *me* (perhaps it's the Buddhist in me) but wonder if others have this sort

| Questions concerning Freshwater Moray (snowflake) Eels in general. | 05 Jul 2004 15:33 GMT | 2 |
I've heard multiple schools of thought on freshwater Snowflake eels... Do they originate in salt-water and are acclimated to fresh? Some have told me that they only live a short time in freshwater, is this true? What is the best diet for them? What is the best tank

| Should I do water change whilst cycling??? | 05 Jul 2004 09:04 GMT | 4 |
Should I do a water change whilst cycling? I have found after a week of running ammonia is still at 0, nitrites are at 0... this is not too good is it? I have put a filter sponge from the previous tank in there to start things up, as well as an algae wafter that

| Tank sizes | 05 Jul 2004 00:25 GMT | 7 |
I'm new here, and going to be getting into fish soon. I've been doing a bit of reading over the last couple of days, and here's my first of what wil no doubt be a long list of questions. I've seen many references to tanks, saying that someone owns a small

| Distilled/RO water? | 04 Jul 2004 22:35 GMT | 13 |
Hi. I have a 55g planted tank (low light). My tap water isn't exactly ideal for my community fish or my plants (pH about 8, GH ~250ppm), and I'd like to use distilled or RO water instead of using peat moss or water softeners that would change the color of my water. What is a good ...

| 330 bio wheel doesn't turn | 02 Jul 2004 10:22 GMT | 3 |
I have two 330 Penguins with 4 bio wheels. Earlier I posted regarding the wheels sticking and not turning. I fixed the problem with new filters which increased the spillway water flow. However, nothing is forever. One of the 4 wheels stopped turning,

| WHAT IS OVER FEEDING? | 02 Jul 2004 02:36 GMT | 5 |
I am so curious what everybody considers to be over feeding. My thought has always been that if the fish eat it they are hungry or need the food. I feel bad if I selfishly give them less so that they don't poop too much so I have less work to do. Clearly if they can eat

| sunset gourami problem | 01 Jul 2004 18:47 GMT | 5 |
One of my sunset dwarf gouramis seems to be ill. It sits on the bottom of the tank and hides between plants and a rock. It hasn't come out to feed since the day before yesterday. It looks OK - I've looked at it thru a magnifying glass and can't see any obvious problems. All other ...
