Betta too picky or pellets too big to bite?31 Aug 2004 23:00 GMT6
He ate Betta Color Enhanced pallets, and was happy eating them. I got
another bottle of the same kind when I saw that I was running low on
betta's food. But to my surprise the pallets of the same kind are too
big, about 2x or 3x bigger in size than the original ones. There's no

south american type aquarium set up31 Aug 2004 12:16 GMT3
I'm looking into setting up a biotope aquarium but it seems to me that's
quite limited to the number of fish and plants.
For instance, the kinds of tetra's and cories differ greatly from the
different kinds of South American River.
Help with community fish31 Aug 2004 10:44 GMT6
It has been a long time since I had a tank around the house. I have a
pond in the back yard with messy old goldfish and mosquito eating
guppies, however, that is not the point.
I have acquired a 50 gallon tank, set it up with plants and rocks, and
fish inflating like a balloon31 Aug 2004 06:55 GMT7
I've been out for a couple of days, i've fed the fish before i left and
right after i came home.
about 3 hours after i came back i've noticed one of the fish (small red
one, something like a neon but red) had inflated like a balloon, u can
question....betta, livebearers, tetras...30 Aug 2004 23:59 GMT8
okay, so here's the deal.  i was thinking about trading all my tetras
(because they're mean and they nip) and perhaps getting a male betta.
i have 2 male swordtails, 3 male guppies, and also 3 corys.  i don't
want my tank to be sparse (32 gal), so what other type of fish would
Aquarium Photography30 Aug 2004 23:22 GMT9
Hello, I was wondering how I could take good aquarium pictures? The
ones I can take now, you see the flash, where water has dropped on the
glass, and the over all quality usually isn't too good. When I try
taking pictures without the flash, it, the picture, has even lower
tank safety?29 Aug 2004 18:40 GMT12
The school where I work has a tank with goldfish in the reception area
which has always been looked after by one of the teachers (successfully
and well, I think); however he left at the end of last term and I have
been designated term-time-goldfish-looker-after on the grounds ...
crossbreeding fish species29 Aug 2004 13:00 GMT7
Hi there, Does anyone have a URL or any information on crossbreeding
different species of fish, I know carp, goldfish, crucian carp and koi can
be interbred, but what about minnows and other fish types? would you be able
to fertilise a minnows egg with a goldfishes milt? it would be ...

Bettas28 Aug 2004 18:57 GMT7
Do bettas behave like any other fish when in a relatively large (55 gal)
tank?  I didn't want to get one and find out that it just stays in the
corner blowing bubbles.  Are there any issues keeping them with cardinal
tets, angelfish, etc?  I had one a long long time ago and I don't ...
Seeking aquariums in OK/KS area27 Aug 2004 15:26 GMT1
I live in a rural area in northern Oklahoma near I-35.  Anyone know of a
decent place to acquire a tank in the 30 gal range?  I'd love to go larger
but lack the space at this time.  Also a nice supply of fish and other
accessories.  Walmart's stock isn't that impressive.
Fluval filter lost pressure27 Aug 2004 09:30 GMT6
Hi, I have a Fluval 2+ filter (one of the completely under-the-water types).
It's been running fine for a month or so but lately it keeps losing
pressure. Instead of firing a mighty jet of water it has reduced to a
trickle. I've "fixed" it in the past by unplugging, taking it apart ...
Mixing Male Gouramis?27 Aug 2004 04:54 GMT4
I have a tank with 2 Male Dwarf Gouramis and 4 Serpea Tetras.  The tank has
two large live plants and plenty of large rocks to hide out under.  The two
male gouramis are constantly fighting, but they seem pretty healthy so I'm
not too worried about them.
