you stick your hand in the tank and play with them, or do they like to

I'm going to set up a new tank. I would like a fish with character and
interesting behavior. I am quite experienced and would be glad to hear your
opinions.
Thanks in advance,
Bala Sharks sudden death27 Aug 2004 01:17 GMT2
Drat, dang, and lots of punctuation. Night before last, I was admiring
our Balas. How they've grown, how healthy they look. Skipped morning
fish feeding while hurrying to get myself to another appointment. Last
evening, one Bala swimming around still looking quite healthy and happy,

ID Wild minnow?26 Aug 2004 22:37 GMT5
While vacationing at a spring in Florida, I found a wild minnow (or
small fish) that was black with gold spots. I would like to find some for
sale. Anyone know what it might be?
They were slender, about one inch, and swam with the other minnows which
Otos26 Aug 2004 11:55 GMT3
I purchased a trio of adorable little Otos today.  I have heard they can be
quite delicate, so I would love any suggestions on how to keep them healthy
& happy.  They are currently residing in a sparsely planted 50 gal tank with
3 clown loaches, 1 spotted raphael catfish, 4 red ...

Fish identification26 Aug 2004 01:22 GMT4
Some  time ago there was a request for an identification of a catfish. I
can't find the post, but I'm hoping somebody might remember it, or recognize
it from the description.
It's a catfish which has a body that looks like a banjo from underneath when
Eheim 2222 filter impeller broken (50hz or 60Hz ?) 25 Aug 2004 23:13 GMT7
My Eheim 2222 filter is broken! And I need to replace the impeller.
I had to go overseas on urgent business for two months and I (repeatedly)
told my friends who were housesitting my house to top up the water in the
two fish tanks. They only did it for one tank. Grrrr!!!!!
Cycle Complete...?25 Aug 2004 20:14 GMT4
After 4 weeks, ammonia levels have finally stayed at 0 for a few days now,
without doing water changes.  Nitrites were at 0, until now -- they're hovering
around .25.  Is that normal?  Should I expect nitrites also to be at 0, and
continuing to change the water until that ...
Today I am an aquarist25 Aug 2004 15:40 GMT6
Last night I came home from a long day at work and the only thing on my mind
was sitting down in front of my fish tank and relaxing for an hour or two.
I walk into the room with the tank and all I hear is this loud electrical
whirring noise.  I glanced over at the filter and noticed ...

Oops, new tank filled with fish before I learned about cycling24 Aug 2004 12:54 GMT16
I have a 55-gal running for just over a week now.  After letting the
water circulate for a couple of days, I put in 4 or 5 gouramis.
Everything looked fine, so I put in a bunch more over the weekend.
The only advice I received from the store was to change 20% of the
