Acceptable Current in Tropical Tanks?06 Aug 2004 11:15 GMT2
One other question comes to mind for my resurrected 55 gallon tank.  It used
to house marine fish, and there is a pretty good sized pump circulating
water.  The filter is located at the back left part of the tank, and
discharges to the right.  This creates a kind of circular flow ...

Silver angels with eggs! Help06 Aug 2004 09:23 GMT2
I got home from work today, and I found a couple hundred tannish eggs on
pump inlet tube, and my two angelfish actively gaurding the area.  Since I
have a community tank of 23 fish, should I move the eggs out and into a new
tank.  Also should I move the parents with them.  I have ...

Any problems w/ mixing loaches in a community tank?
Small clowns ok w/ Kuhli's?
Will larger weather-type loaches cohabit ok w/ smaller kuhlis?

marble snails05 Aug 2004 05:37 GMT15
I recieved my order of assorted aquatic plants yesterday. Included in
the order were two marble snails. I placed them in the tank last
night, along with the plants, but since then they have not moved at
all - even overnight while the lights were out. Could they have died
Beginner: tank size, filtration05 Aug 2004 00:44 GMT3
I'm trying to decide what size tank to start with, and how much
filtration I need. I can support the weight of a 55 gallon tank, but
I'm also interested in a 29 gallon and a 40 or 33 gallon "long" tank.
My aesthetic preference is long but not very tall. From the research

Soft Water Anyone?04 Aug 2004 09:12 GMT14
I need a sanity check from the experts.
I have a 10 gallon tank with about 7 adult Endler's Livebearers, and over a
dozen fry, no substrate, a big mass of java moss, and some duck weed.  It
has been set up since April, but has never really flourished.  I've had some

Python problems03 Aug 2004 14:03 GMT5
I've had a Python about a year that I've used for clean and refill my
aquarium.  When I used it today, it drained just fine, but when it came time
to refill, it wouldn't send any water out the hose to the tank.  I took the
green plastic unit apart to look for clogs and was unable to ...
Hatching brine shrimp03 Aug 2004 10:11 GMT3
I've decided to start hatching my own brine shrimp to feed my fry, but I
have a question regarding salinity.  The eggs I purchased say to use 4
tablespoons of sea salt per 1 gallon of water.  However, my salt (Doc
Wellfish's) says to use 8 tablespoons per 1 gallon.  What do I do?
lethargic fish - what's wrong?03 Aug 2004 10:09 GMT1
I have fish that are too lethargic. I have three spotted cories that do
nothing, which is not the behavior I expect from them. And, I have four
diamond tetras which have gone sluggish. I just did a tank cleaning &
water change yesterday, and filter cleaning. While I was at it, I
