blue green algae26 Sep 2004 03:53 GMT2
Hi, is blue green algae considered to be a serious problem. what I mean is
if it gets into an aquarium does that mean that a blackout or blackouts must
be performed to remove it from they aquarium because of the speed that it
spreads at and the lack of a working treatment in the UK.
Snail questions26 Sep 2004 03:53 GMT1
I've had snails dissappear in bad times, then come back months later when
tank conditions changed. Do they eggs lay dormant?

question about pregnant guppy24 Sep 2004 14:23 GMT1
I have one really pregnant looking guppy.  Last week, she gave birth to three fry.  I haven't seen anymore since then.  She looks extremely pregnant and still has a good appetite.  Should I try to induce the labor or is it normal for her to give birth and remain pregnant?
No one likes pink tetra flakes24 Sep 2004 03:54 GMT5
Has anyone else ever noticed any fish that eat the pink flakes in the
Tertra tropical flake food?  I've used both the original and Pro
varities, and man - they all hate the pink flakes!  Giant and Zebra

Hatchet fish swell & die23 Sep 2004 23:33 GMT8
I've lost 2 of my 3 hatchets over the past 2 days, after about 6 months of no
troubles.  The only symptoms I noticed were a swelling in the middle of the
body, (almost looked as if a female filling w/ eggs), a couple days before
death.  Swelling  seemed to be a bit more pronounced ...
floating snails23 Sep 2004 21:49 GMT4
I got two black mystery snails a couple weeks ago.  They were both floating
for a day, but one reattached to the side of the tank and the other
disappeared.  The tank is completely covered.  Now I see only one snail, but
he is lying at the bottom of the tank inside his shell.

wafers or do they like bloodworm?....seem to remember they prefer a mixed
diet.

aquarium salt would put electrolytes in the water and discourage ick

would be more active. we put some in yesterday, does anyone else use
Carbon filter question23 Sep 2004 12:30 GMT9
Hi...
I have just installed my first undergravel filter. I have had many exterior
filter units before and they have always had a carbon filter. I see that the
undergravel filter has a way to have a tube with an air pump and carbon

Egg yolk: what's the particle size?23 Sep 2004 10:49 GMT4
Often one hear the suggestion to use boiled egg yolk as feed for
egglayer fry, e.g. by dipping it in water and squeezing out "juice"
through a fine cloth.
However, I can find no estimate on the size of the particles produced.
