New Tank Setup--Filtration?????  Magnum HOT or other suggestions??22 Sep 2004 18:31 GMT3
I'm in the process of buying a tank.  I'm getting a 75gallon.  I'm
planning on adding some plants and making it a community tank with
Barbs & Rainbows.
What do you all suggest for filtration.  I'm sure it's been asked
Pickle Jar Aquarium22 Sep 2004 09:06 GMT8
I have had a thought, and have acted on it,...sort of.  I was at the
corner grocery store earlier this evening, purchasing some roast beef,
and what do I see, but several one gallon jars of Dill pickles sitting
up on the counter over the meats, cheeses, et cetera.  Long ...
if...21 Sep 2004 20:16 GMT8
...you had an empty, cycled 13 gallon tank, what would you put in it?
I fancy endlers.
I also fancy figure-eight puffers, but I'm pretty sure I'm not up to the
challenge of a brackish tank at the moment, and I'd like a bigger tank
Tenacor LARGE Acrylic tanks???21 Sep 2004 19:22 GMT1
Phase One:  Before I go whole hog and have the floor ripped out for the 8'
diameter 2800g tank I eventually want, I think I should go easy for a while.
Anyone using Tenacor's LARGE Acrylic tanks with the with Simplicity Plus
Filter built in?
Dwarf Puffer Question21 Sep 2004 19:17 GMT7
I just added 2 dwarf puffers to a 10 gal. tank.  Other than some very
frightened MTS, they are the tank's only inhabitants.  There definitely
seems to be a dominant fish and it eats all the food I add - whether it
needs it or not - and chases the other puffer away.  Would adding a ...
Turtles in the tank21 Sep 2004 17:48 GMT6
I would like to introduce a small painted box turtle to our fresh water
aquarium.  I know turtles are cold blooded and need to get near a heat
source to warm from time to time.
So I need to build a sturdy shelf for them to climb on?
Sand, pH and Plants.. 21 Sep 2004 08:49 GMT9
I'm working on a small cory tank and I have sand for the substrate. The
(possible) problem is, a guy at Petco said the sand *may* raise the pH. I
have it in a bucket of water right now and will check the pH over the next
few days to see what happens.... But.. if the pH does go up ...
2 Q's: Agrro Danio and Lights21 Sep 2004 01:19 GMT2
I've got a 10 gallon tank with 4 rasboras, 2 cory cats, and 1 danio.
The danio chases the rasboras constantly and I think has been
attacking one of the corys, as its fins are kind of shredded. I would
like to lower the stress level of the fish by calming down or removing
Weird fish behavior, swimming20 Sep 2004 16:19 GMT4
I have a small 2 gallon fish tank, previously there was 1 fish (all
goldfish) in a smaller tank. We got the 2 gallon along with 2 new
(smaller) goldfish.
Now they all swim abck and forth in the tank, from one end to the
White Cloudy Tank after 5 months20 Sep 2004 15:02 GMT5
Hello fish people! I have a question that might not be that easy to answer,
first let me tell you the spec on my tank:
90 Gallon tropical running for since May 04 (About5 months)
Filters: 1 Fluval 403 Canister Filter
Black Discoloration?20 Sep 2004 13:20 GMT5
I'm new to this group AND to maintaining an aquarium, so pardon my
intense ignorance.
I have a small five gallon tank with two fish, one a fantail goldfish,
about 1". We had a pH spike a few weeks after setting up the tank, and

I've just bought a Juwel Rio 400, and am a bit confused over what I still
need to buy.
eg Structured Background STR600: do I need three of these, or are there more
than one in a pack ?
