I have an established 55-gallon freshwater tank stocked with about 30 Lemon
Tetras, Blackskirts and Zebra Danios. A Magnum 350 and dual pad filter take

i'm was almost set on buying a CO2 gas unit when my LFS guy

going to buy a C02 system. (I finally gave up the idea of DIY
as it seems to much hassle for a 132 gal tank)

Housing 2 large plecos together10 Sep 2004 00:17 GMT5
Spring 2003, a guy at work gave me his 12" hypostomus plecostomus for
our backyard pond, which currently houses bass and bluegill.
We were simply going to use him or her for fertilizer after the frost,
but got soft-hearted and set up a 40 gallon pond indoors (with
Above tank trickle filter question.09 Sep 2004 15:36 GMT2
I am considering making a trickle filter for my 75 gallon. Aesthetics are
not really a concern, so I thought I'd make it an above-the-tank setup and
let gravity do the work. I have perused a number of articles via google
about materials etc., but am wondering just how big a pump ...
Vertical swimming09 Sep 2004 10:27 GMT4
I have recently added six White Cloud Mountain Minnows to my stable, cycled
'river' tank.
They were all quite sensible in quarantine and for the first day or so in
the main tank.
Parrot fish developing black bits09 Sep 2004 01:37 GMT2

black markings on his nose and top lip.  He also has black streaks on

mean he always was, but he is the size of the guppies.  i'm worried

Pregnant Guppy - white blob near where babies come out08 Sep 2004 14:47 GMT1
My girlfriend has a pregnant guppy who has already gotten quite large
and her black spot has grown significantly bigger.  We just noticed
today that she has a small white blob hanging from the area that the
fry are birthed from.  She hasn't eaten anything at all today, during
My amphibians are vanishing without a trace!08 Sep 2004 02:20 GMT3
Over the last month, I have been experiencing a sad and bizarre
phenomenon in my little 5 gallon freshwater tank. First, a little
fire-belly newt that everyone loved just vanished one day without a
trace (had him for five months). After a period of mourning, I bought a
DIY C02 & hooking it up to a internal filter07 Sep 2004 23:43 GMT4
I've been looking at some diagrams of DIY C02 generators and about the
