eat the flake and pellet food I give my other community fish ?

Fish Speed06 Sep 2004 07:12 GMT9
No I'm not selling fishamphetamines.  I'm beginning to stock a 55 gal tank
and I'm thinking about the right mix of fish.  Do you tend to try and stick
with the same "speed" fish?  By this I mean do you like to have a slow
moving fish like angels and discus in the same tank as a ...
Borelli & Viejita in a 2-feet tank together?06 Sep 2004 06:56 GMT1
You guys ever put a Borelli (a mildly aggressive cichlid)
& a Viejita (a more aggressive one) together in a 2-feet tank?
If we put enough bogwood, upturned pot with cracks,
and other places to hide, will they finally ignore each other?

Swordtail maturation05 Sep 2004 17:10 GMT1
Three months ago (June 4) our golden colored female sword had a batch of about
50 fry.  They were kept in a 20 gallon tank, with a few guppy & molly fry.
About 6 weeks ago, I moved some to a 55 gal., and they've grown faster than the
others.  My questions --
Mystery growth mainly on plants...05 Sep 2004 04:19 GMT4
I've fot a mystery growth in my 45 gallon.
A little over a mont ago we removed a number of silk plants, and
replaced them with Anacharis and "water sprite".  Both are weeds, and
have been growing great.  They have really added a lot to the tank.

1 of my guppies swims around with my 1 male swordtail and tries to nip
at his pectoral fins.  at least, i'm guessing this is what he is
doing.  at first he used to bother the male swordtail but now he just
sort of ignores the guppy.  any idea why this male guppy would be

Hi.  I am a newbie since my last tank 20 years ago as I've said before, and
after a few weeks of having this tank, some questions come to mind, mostly
about plants I guess.  I've done some research and googling, so I hope you
don't think I'm being lazy!  I took some quick pics here:
