Decisions...Decisions...30 Nov 2004 22:55 GMT10
I was curious to know what others would choose given the opportunity to
start over with a Freshwater tank.
We are moving and the new place can't support Marine (as I would like it
supported) so my marine tank is eventually going to be converted.
Cardinal tetras meds30 Nov 2004 18:32 GMT3
Hi all.. as some of you know cards & neons are often bred in large heavely
medicated ponds in asian countries so they can ship large quantities to
suppliers in the U.S. and Can. But by the time they get to the customer the
meds are starting to wear off and the fish start dying. ...

I need to get a new heater for my 10 gallon tank but I was thinking of
buying the next size up (75Watts instead of 50). Would there be any downside
to this?

Automatic Feeders29 Nov 2004 22:48 GMT6
Greetings all....
As the world turns, so do the days of our lives... and this year I
find that I will be away from home for the last two weeks of the year.
I don't have any neighbors who I feel comfortable asking to come over
Part time UGF29 Nov 2004 15:21 GMT12
Got a question, facts and opinions are welcome.
I've got a 55g with two UGF plates.  One uplift tube goes to a constantly
running AquaClear 300 and a power head sits on top of the other uplift tube.
I've got timers set up to have lights on 12 hours, and the power head with

HELP AMMONIA (dont understand where from)28 Nov 2004 21:14 GMT28
As the subject indicates, i have a problem with my ammonia. I have a
20 Gallon tank. About a month and a half ago, I bought an Eheim
Liberty. The Eheim was there to replace my Penguin Bio-Wheel. I left
BOTH filters running for a month and a half. Today, I did a water

pH and algae....strange things going on28 Nov 2004 01:15 GMT9
I have a NanoCube (12g), freshwater tank, planted, fluorite media, and
5 little happy golden barbs as the sole occupants.
I've been keeping the tank at a steady, nicely buffered (KH ~180ppm)
pH of 8.2, using SeaChem's Alkaline Buffer...my tap water has almost
Dwarf Puffer Companions27 Nov 2004 18:06 GMT1
I have a 55 gal. tank with one Spotted Raphael Catfish residing in it.
I will be moving my 3 dwarf puffers (who currently have their own 10
gal. tank) into the 55 gal. with the catfish. I've just run out of room
and need to tear down the 10 gal.  What other fish will do well with ...
Pimelodus pictus pairing in captivity27 Nov 2004 11:48 GMT1
Has anyone seen this happen?
Saw a tank at an office with a pair. The female is always hiding
behind an artificial rock (I'm assuming its female because its larger
and duller). The male patrols the area in front. Whenever I approached
water retention in fish26 Nov 2004 21:34 GMT3
Does anybody know anything about this subject? What could cause problems
with water retention for a fish? More specifically, what could be the cause
for bloating due to inablity for the fish to regulate the water
intake/outlet?
Cheap Fish Keeping?25 Nov 2004 14:39 GMT8
Hi all - my first post here.  I just started aquariums this summer.  I think
I know most of the basics but thats about it.  I have no tank sense - to
know what looks, sounds, smells.... right.  I already have a 55 gal and 29
gal which I am doing pretty much the "right" way.  I ...
