Angel fri25 Nov 2004 04:59 GMT9
My Angels spawned the other day and we now have a bunch of little
wigglers still attached to the sword leaf.  I am amazed that they have
made it this far.  Everything I have read said that Angels, especially
first timers, take several attempts to get it right, if ever.  I am not
Pets Warehouse25 Nov 2004 02:18 GMT4
John Benn, the Alabama lawyer who runs petsforums lost his all claims
against www.Petswarehouse.com I saw this press release a few days ago

Need a final solution for Red Wag Tail Platies population explosion25 Nov 2004 00:13 GMT5
My red wagtail platies have produced 7 fry which are now 3 weeks old.  The
trouble is I do not want nor cannot keep all these platies.  I was hoping
that nature would take it's course and the adults would have eaten the fry
by now but they haven't.  I'm surprised these little ...
Arm & Hammer and green-water24 Nov 2004 20:07 GMT15
In the last 24 hrs, I have seen what appears to be green water in my
75 gal planted tank.
The setup is <2 weeks old, and pretty heavily planted as per
conventional wisdom.  All plants are thriving, spraying out new
sea shells in freshwater tank24 Nov 2004 04:24 GMT10
I just purchased a sea shell off of ebay and I told the lady that I was
going to put it in my freshwater fish tank.  She said that she did not
recommend putting ocean shells in freshwater tanks.  Will this hurt my fish?
Is it just the saltiness or what?  Because I know that some ...
The intelligence of fishes : High or low ? ? ?23 Nov 2004 20:28 GMT3
I think my fishes are little geniuses, probably tiny Einsteins and I
will teach them math and physics now.
They like Mozart and this is a sign of intelligence.
I think fishes are highly intelligent and could work for NASA.
Danio with Pop-eye23 Nov 2004 05:13 GMT2
I was changing the water in the tank tonight and noticed a long-fin zebra
danio with Pop-eye. How can I treat this?  Its a 50 gallon, 25 fish
community tank.  Or should I remove the fish and put him out of his misery?

Test Strips or Drops22 Nov 2004 17:34 GMT2
I have been  using test strips which have the 5 tabs per strip just stick
it in the water and wait for the results.  Lately I've been thinking about
changing to the system where you use the drops of chemicals in water
acquired from the tank in little test tubes.
Algae and Bleach22 Nov 2004 13:07 GMT1
OK, I finally got round to trying to kill off some of the everspreading tuft
algae. I bleached my ornaments, and the algae, went from very dark green to
very pale green. Hence I can conclude it's dead! now the problem is how to
remove it. I started to scrub it with a wire brush but ...
Vortex D1 instructions 21 Nov 2004 12:47 GMT2
I'm a relative newbie and just bought a used D1 Vortex filter.  No
instructions.   Using some instructions I found at
www.carolinagal.com/diatom.htm,   I was able to clear out a nasty algae
bloom in approx 20 minutes.  I love the results!
SeaMonkeys: Jumbo Living Plasma21 Nov 2004 07:41 GMT4
I can't find anyone on the web who sells Jumbo Living Plasma
for sea monkeys.
Does anyone have a source in the USA?
Zebra Danios To Add With Leopard Danios20 Nov 2004 21:06 GMT1
We have two Leopard Danios in our 30 gallon tank.   One chases the  other incessantly.
We're considering adding a few Zebra Danios as a means of breaking this annoying (and harrassing) behavior up.
Question is will Leopard Danios school with  Zebra Danios?
Thanks
Breeding japonica amano shrimp & salt water20 Nov 2004 18:17 GMT6
One of my amano shrimp is pregnant.  I'd like to try to raise the fry and I
have heard that they need salt water in order to survive until they reach
the post larval stage.  Can I use regular aquarium salt (Doc Wellfish's) to
make the salt water?  I've done so before when I hatched ...

White Cloudiness - Bacteria or Minerals?20 Nov 2004 04:06 GMT7
I've googled this subject and found some things about bacteria being a
possible cause.  Here's my situation:
- Did a 25% water change with relatively high pH tap water (over 7.4).
Water was clear before the change, but has gotten more cloudy over the
