Why is it frowned upon to post a message to more than one NG? I'm not
talking about spam, but a legitimate post.

Best Temperature for Tetras15 Nov 2004 07:05 GMT2
Just a question.  Someone in here recommended that tetras like temps to be
about 80F.  I've got black neons, cardinals and just got a few brass tetras.
I had been keeping the temp at 76-77 and they are big and colorful.  I've
been surfing around and I haven't really found much that ...
to those who have used QuickCure to cure Ich/Ick ...15 Nov 2004 05:28 GMT6
... did you do a water change before every treatment, including the initial
treatments before visible spots left your fish?  Or did you only do a water
change before the treatments that followed (every three or four days for two
weeks afterwards)?
Survivors-truly amazing15 Nov 2004 05:20 GMT9
Last night I decided to clear the algae from my heater.
Today at lunchtime I discovered I had forgotten to plug it back in!
Tank temp was down to 58 degrees Fahrenheit.
Did a 30% water change to raise temp.
Raised Nitrite15 Nov 2004 05:12 GMT1
My filter recently lost power for a day or two before I discovered it.
Ammonia levels were up and I lost 2 fish. I rinsed and cleaned the
filter extreely well just using tank water (it was quite smelly) Whne
I was finished it had that normal musty type of odour. i reassemable
Sea snails in a freshwater tank?15 Nov 2004 04:58 GMT3
I recently got back from a trip to Aruba, while there I collected some
small shells from the beach - thinking they were empty.  When I got
home I put the shells into some water to clean them off - and some of
the shells still had live snails in them!
Moving large fish15 Nov 2004 01:16 GMT11
I'm moving into a condo, looking for some starter tips.
I'll be moving various species.
Question is what's the best methods of moving the fish?
I've got 4 Bala sharks, 8-12" in length, 11" ghost knife, 11" choc pleco, 7"
Giant Danios: Number, Tank Size14 Nov 2004 16:10 GMT2
I'm looking at a new setup and I want to do giant danios. My questions:
1. Is a 29 gallon tank big enough for 6 giant danios? Will they outgrow
it? Is this too much of a bioload? Will I have room to expand my stock?
2. Can I use just two giant danios to start the tank's cycle even ...
White spots on eyes14 Nov 2004 14:08 GMT6
What's the best diagnosis for faint white spots on a fish's eye?  I've got
some nice large and plump cardinal tetras, but about 2 of them have a very
faint white spot on the eye.  What is the best cure for this?  I'm concerned
that this will turn into something more serious.  My ...
can I use super glue?14 Nov 2004 12:33 GMT5

Aquarium Question13 Nov 2004 23:22 GMT3
I recently bought a one gallon aquarium at a yard sale.
Everything seems to be working well. But I'm wondering
about the big plastic tube that's inside the aquarium.
The aquarium is hexagonal, and has two plastic pieces
aquarium smell13 Nov 2004 11:01 GMT9
It is obviously bad when aquarium water has an offensive odor, but is a
distinctive and most certainly not offensive scent that... uhh...
resembles a pond on a warm day (sorry, no better way to describe it)...
something to worry about?
Betta tank again12 Nov 2004 17:01 GMT7
Well, as I mentioned, my divided betta tank is up and running.  After 5
days I tested for ammonia and nitrites and they were both zero.  That
Eco-complete gravel must really work.
The two bettas spend a lot of time flaring at each other through the
Help, looks like its snowing in my tank?11 Nov 2004 21:36 GMT2
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.  My 30 gallon tank just recently
started having (I don;t know how else to explain it but) it looks like it's
snowing in the tank.  They look like small bubbles coming from the
filter/biowheel but there seems to be more today than two days ...
new 'stuff' in my tank11 Nov 2004 19:17 GMT7
I've got a small tank with just one male betta and a snail in it.
Just now, I noticed a few spots of what looks like little silver balls in a
stringy (looks kind of sticky) clear substance. The silver balls almost look
like mercury balls -they're that shiny and silver.
