I plan on getting a 55 gallon (glass) tank from Walmart. Someone told me
that the Whisper filter that comes with the tank is not a good filter to
use. Can any one tell me what a good hang on the back type filter would be

One of my Echinodorus has sprung a gas leak. In the photo below it is

I have an aquaclear 500 and am unable to hang it on the back because of a
piece of glass that holds the lid is in the way.
What would be a good solution
(a) remove someof that glass to fit the filter

Just wondering, is it OK to add water heated/boiled in a kettle/saucepan to
cold water to match temperature for a water change?
