| When to plant a new tank? | 14 Dec 2004 03:22 GMT | 15 |
Basic question on planting a new tank: I'm setting up an Eclipse 6 gallon for my daughter and we'd like it to be moderately planted eventually. I'm going to cycle the tank with FISH (2 danios), as opposed to the method of using only live plants to establish the tank

| Doomed silver mollie | 13 Dec 2004 16:12 GMT | 2 |
I have had several experiences with pregnant livebearers, who, instead of giving birth, croaked. As I was anticipating blessed events, they never delivered, but just became more bloated and then expired. This happened twice, with guppies, and now, I have a silver

| Pipe Dream: Plants and an Apple Snail? | 13 Dec 2004 00:09 GMT | 21 |
I know this is a silly, wildly unrealistic, question, but I have to ask anyway... Is there by any chance a plant I could put in my tank that the Apple Snail wouldn't devour completely in a day?

I am looking at getting a fish tank for my baby and need some advice. I am undecided between a 2ft of 4ft tank. Is the smaller tank worth while? I would like to have several fish to make it visually stimulating etc. Advice PLEASE

| Oto Diet | 11 Dec 2004 21:06 GMT | 8 |
I got two small oto's yesterday and wanted to be sure they would eat flakes if there weren't enough algae. I had what I now believe was an oto (larger one) a month ago (the store had it labeled as an SAE, which it surely wasn't). He was doing nicely for a couple of weeks and then ...

| 2.5 gallon hood - report | 09 Dec 2004 05:32 GMT | 3 |
Well, Petco didn't have anything but flat glass, and the PetsMart in my end of town dodn't either. But the PetsMart on the other end of town had a 12" incandescent hood for (not $12-$14) $9.99. I'm happy. I may eventually get a hinged piece of glass, but this'll do till after ...

| recycling a tank | 08 Dec 2004 20:42 GMT | 11 |
I had noticed for a few days that there seemed to be a lot of waste in the gravel. Today I had a closer look at the UGF & noticed that the up-doodad had come loose. I reattached it, used the gravel vac & topped up the water. I think I'll use the gravel vac daily for a week to ...
