Sick Honey Gourami31 Jan 2005 15:54 GMT4
I got up this morning to see the Serpaes curiously nipping at the smaller of
my new male Honey Gouramis.
He was on his side scraping along the bottom in the current.
I have put him into the Q/H tank and dosed the water with a weak solution of
Is Peat Filtration Media Worthwhile?31 Jan 2005 14:22 GMT4
I've got an Aquaclear 300, which lets me pretty much stuff in bags of
anything I want into it. It's currently filtering a 46 gallon bowfont
tank with water parameters  and fish appropriate for a South American
flooded forest biotope.
Hydra Infestation in new tank - Can I Kill them this way?31 Jan 2005 05:11 GMT4
I'm about 6 weeks into a new 6 gallon tank, cycling with 2 danios and
several live plants.  I just noticed several very small HYDRA in the
tank.  They are attached to, and appear to be limited to, the small
resin ornament in the tank.  Can I remove the ornament and boil it, or

My Glowlights spawned!30 Jan 2005 18:21 GMT2
I haven't found too many datapoints out there on spawning of
glowlights, so I'll put mine out there.  On Dec. 30th, in my 75-gal
planted tank, two of my fourteen H. erythrozonus went at it.  As I was
about to travel to CA for a couple days, I didn't make any attempt to

Sick Clown Loach need help.30 Jan 2005 11:25 GMT3
I have a 50 Gallon tank with 3 Clown loaches.  The smallest one which
we have had since it was a baby and now about 2 inches long, is
swimming upside down and looks thinner than normal.
I'm not sure if i can do anything for it to recover.  I've owned Clown
NetMax, will this work for me?30 Jan 2005 05:48 GMT5

Do you think this will work for my big tank?  Think it will be as noisy as a
swimming pool filter?

Reverse Osmosis or similar29 Jan 2005 19:30 GMT7
I'm looking at trying to soften the water I have now 12 - 15 dh to something
around the 5 - 6 level after the death of one of my discus the other week.
I've been in my house about about 8 months and haven't set up a dedicated
tap etc yet, but I just attach a hose to the bath and ...
Bluefin Killifish29 Jan 2005 12:44 GMT2
Lucania goodei.
I have some in a 50 G tank, have had them for several months now.
They have recently adapted to flake food and seem to be growing well.
No signs of breeding or babies.  Anyone know about these?
HAVE YOU HEARD THE GOOD NEWS!29 Jan 2005 02:30 GMT15
Good News!
Do you know how simple it is to go to Heaven after this life has ended?
Some people believe that belonging to a local church, temple, mosque or
synagogue will get them to Heaven.
Are the catfish in aquariums of the same family as those we eat?28 Jan 2005 23:05 GMT1
Just curious... they look pretty different so I'm wondering if maybe
"catfish" is a loose term used to describe those aquarium fish or if
they're actually related to the catfish that are raised for human
consumption?
All about Monos28 Jan 2005 18:58 GMT1
How long does it take MOnos to reach its full size in captivity?  And how
long can they be kept in fresh water before changing into brackish or
saltwater?
Thanks
question about box filter28 Jan 2005 05:30 GMT4
Hi,  I want to set up a small plastic box filter in a 5 gallon quarantine
tank.  I don't have the box to it anymore. What goes in the bottom, the
carbon or the filter floss?  It's been a while since I used one of these and
I can't remember.  Thanks,  Sarah
Guppies keep dying27 Jan 2005 22:21 GMT4
I'm relatively new to aquaria but hopefully not so clueless as to kill my
fish from stupidity or neglect. I had ten guppies / swordtails in a
20-gallon planted, heated tank with water params always close to 0/0/0,
undergravel filter + mini biowheel, 20% water changes weekly, no ...
