Sea Monkeys21 Jan 2005 16:23 GMT8
Hey Group - I know this is a bit OT but I told my wife you guys know a
little bit about everything.  My sister in law is loving her sea monkeys but
has run out of the food that came with them.  What do they eat?

question on quantity21 Jan 2005 01:46 GMT1
We have a 5 gal tank with 5 small neons and a chinese algae eater. Are we
pretty much at the maximum # of fish we can have? or is there  room for one or
2 more? The neons hide so much of the time, it'd be nice to have something else
in there so it looked like there were actually ...
Leaking Tank20 Jan 2005 22:12 GMT5
My 55 gal tank was used and the top trim has always been slightly loose.  If
water level or bubbling water gets that high it will very slowly leak out
untill the level is reduce. I am finally considering possibly trying to seal
the junction of the glass and inside trim IF I can ...

I have 4 piranha between 5" and 7" long and have been feeding them

need to increase kH/stabilize pH20 Jan 2005 04:00 GMT8
I've had a 37G tall tank for about 3 years now.  it's been on UGF and HOT
magnum with bunch of live plants.  usually the pH has been stable around
6.8, zero nitrite, zero ammonia, nitrate~10-20ppm between water changes.
our tap water is very soft, so typically the GH/kH has been ...
Agressive Gourami19 Jan 2005 20:46 GMT3
I am new to the aquarium hobby.  About a month ago, I got my first
aquarium, a 35 litre bench top unit.  I went to my local fish store
and asked their advice on how to stock it.  Now I'm hooked, buying
books, reading up on fish and plants, planning to establish a much
QUESTION: Which aquarium temperature alarm, settable?19 Jan 2005 10:29 GMT1
Hi, if you already have an aquarium alarm, perhaps you can answer my
question, because the vendor websites are not specific enough.
Are there any (which brands, models?) aquarium thermometers with a
SETTABLE high temperature alarm? I want to set the alarm to ring at my
Fungus in vacuum tubes19 Jan 2005 10:16 GMT9
Both of my vacuum lines are slowly growing sploches of a fuscia colored
fungus?  To a lesser extent there is also some gray/green fungus/mold
looking stuff.  Is it a concern?  One line is a small gravel vac line short
and small ID.  The other is 30 ft 5/8" ID.
A bad day at Petco19 Jan 2005 06:14 GMT2
Right after Xmas, I bought a 5.5 gallon aquarium from a local Petco
store to use as a split tank for 2 bettas.  I took it home, filled it
within a inch or so of the top, and let it sit.  No leaks.
So I got out the silicone and the styrene and the plastic canvas and put

New Thread: 55gallon filter vs 250g sump19 Jan 2005 01:56 GMT7
When I look at the picture of this 250 gallon sump (we are picking it up
Monday) only 1/3 of the tank is actual mechanical and bio the other 2/3's is
water???   Is it the extra water capacity what I am looking for, or am I
missing the contents of the other 2/3's of the tank?

Molly death18 Jan 2005 20:29 GMT3
Ratsa Rutsa - I just had a beautiful male silver sailfin molly pass away in
my 10 gal.  I would appreciate some guesses at what went wrong.  My 'big 3'
were 0/0/10 two days ago and right after I discovered him.  pH 7.5, temp 76.
Filter is a small 100 gph power filter. I have been ...
