Been puzzling over the best way to move the fish from my son's 10g "overcrowded" tank over to his new 30g tank and would welcome your opinions and advice. The tank has been up and running for a week now with some plants (both real

| Bala Shark die-off? | 19 Feb 2005 18:16 GMT | 11 |
I recently purchased two Bala Sharks for my 25 gallon freshwater tank. The other day, I found one of them floating and dead at the top of the tank. This was unusual, but not terribly unexpected -- there was a significant algae bloom, so I would imagine that the bloom was at least ...

| Metals in fresh water tanks? | 19 Feb 2005 15:01 GMT | 12 |
I need to know if galvanized steel with zinc in it is ok to put in fresh water tanks with fish and plants in them? The reason why I need to know is that I am occasionally using a vortex diatomaceous filter (xl model) and I only have had success by using hose clamps made out of

About four or five months ago I collected four very small (less than an inch) baby catfish from a local pond and put them in a planted ten gallon tank I had sitting around. After researching a bit about them I figured out they were brown bullhead cats and will get about a foot

| Ghost shrimp and Betta | 18 Feb 2005 16:00 GMT | 3 |
Hi. After my old Betta died, I decided to leave the tank Betta-less for a while. In the interim I got some ghost shrimp, because they looked interesting. This morning I got another betta. However, I've noticed the ghost shrimp being very agressive with the Betta - grabbing

| apple snails, or other *non* pest snails | 17 Feb 2005 19:47 GMT | 1 |
I'm new here, have been into aquaria for about 5 years now, but my question is about apple snails. I've tried to keep them in the past, but even after acclimatisation, they seem to die off after a week or so. I'd love to have one now, but too scared that i'd murder it. Any clues? ...

| South American cichlids with which plants... | 17 Feb 2005 00:05 GMT | 6 |
I'm really frustrated. I have a 90 gallon tank with about 20 Convicts (some large, some small) and one large Texan. The problem is that they seem to take pleasure in uprooting and destroying anything I plant. I really would like to add some greenery, but these damn guys won't ...

| JESUS CHRIST WENT TO THE CROSS SO YOU CAN GO TO HEAVEN - The good news is that God came from Heaven to earth in the person of Jesus Christ over 2000 years ago and died for our past, present and future sins(misdeeds). He was born in the land of Israel supernaturally to a virgin Jewish woman named Mary. He lived a sinless life for thirty-three years and then sacrificed His sinless blood and died on a cross to pay the death penalty for our sins..... | 16 Feb 2005 23:55 GMT | 11 |
Good News! Do you know how simple it is to go to Heaven after this life has ended? The good news is that God came from Heaven to earth

| Aquarium decor | 16 Feb 2005 22:54 GMT | 1 |
Can you put any plain old ordinary piece of a tree in your aquarium, or does it need to be 'drift wood' what ever that means? If you can, would there be any steps to sanitize it. d

| Hardening water... | 16 Feb 2005 20:49 GMT | 1 |
I was reading somewhere that Tiger Barbs prefer hard water. The water from my tap, however, is really soft. Should I do anything about this? If so, what? I know that I could just try to let the evaporative process concentrate
