Gourami question03 Feb 2005 15:52 GMT5
Hiya. I'm new to this group. I've been keeping my 20 gallon long planted
aquarium for about 4 years now. (Two years ago when I moved across
country, I gave my fish back to the LFS where I got them but brought my
plants, many of which survived.) For the last couple of years it's ...
Ick!  Ich woes03 Feb 2005 07:39 GMT16
I've never had a problem curing ich before.  3 days of Quick Cure
(formalin and malachite green) and the spots are usually gone.  4 more
treatments 3 days apart and all the parasites are gone.  This time, I'm
using Quick Cure and the fish have had spots off and on for 2 weeks!
Guppies!03 Feb 2005 01:45 GMT2
How many fish keepers out there have guppies? And how many of each sex
And what colors do you like best?
I currently have 5 or 6 females, one gold, the others grey w/ whit
tails & black spots.
australian blue lobsters03 Feb 2005 00:16 GMT12
I was at the lfs today and saw that they had some aust. blue lobsters (I
assume the aust. is for australian).  Does anyone have any experience with
these?  For a freshwater creature they sure are pretty.  I have some
questions.  Can they go in a community tank or do they eat ...
Are my Silver Sharks pregnant / full of eggs?02 Feb 2005 22:02 GMT9
Noticed last night that one of my silver sharks, and to a lesser
extent, two others, have swollen bellies.  The fourth shark is slim and
sleek looking still.  Do they produce eggs in large quantities which
are then fertilised by the male?  Are they carrying fertilised eggs?
RIP to another LFS.. Thanks to PetSmart02 Feb 2005 21:52 GMT16
On of the oldest pet shops in Leesburg, VA is RIP.
Pet's Etc. will be closing their doors in the next few months.
After KMart closed their store in Leesburg, the building sat empty.
It is right next to the pet store.
guppie deaths02 Feb 2005 20:15 GMT8
i set up a community tank a few weeks ago, all is going very well. the
tank contains 6 guppies and 3 corys.
the guppies spawned alot(as guppies do) and had fry. i moved one of the
females to a fry tank (to save the fry), she dropped about 15 (first
My Beta is chilling at the bottom of the bowl a bit too much02 Feb 2005 15:01 GMT3
My Beta has been hanging out at the bottom of his bowl lately. He
rarely moves and eats a lot less than he used to. This has been going
on for a couple of weeks now and nothing has changed. Is he sick? Is
there anything that can be done for him?
Blood Worms in Tank02 Feb 2005 05:11 GMT1
Did a gravel vac today and found 3 blood worms in the waste water.  Can eggs
survive the freeze drying process? Is there any other way for the worms to
get in the tank besides the freeze dried worms I feed occasionally?  I
haven't added any new plants since October.  This is the ...
Aquarium hood light fixture02 Feb 2005 04:12 GMT2
After nearly twenty years, my light has gone out. The bulb actually
appears to be still good (I've changed starters over the years, but not
the bulb)...but there is corrosion on the actual metal parts of the
socket under the hood. The hood of the lamp itself is still fine (one
Fishless Cycling part two02 Feb 2005 01:32 GMT61
I can't seem to post anymore in the other thread...
Day 15 evening - ammonia back down to zero, nitrite 5.0
Going to add a table spoon of ammonia and see how it looks tomorrow.
Don't want to lose all those sweet litlle ammonia eating bacteria!  And
Earthworms02 Feb 2005 01:21 GMT10
Every time it rains, my driveway has lots of red earthworms crawling across
it. They are 3 to 4 inches long and about the diameter of spaghetti, not big
like night crawlers. How can I prepare these for an occasional treat for my
angelfish?
convicts 02 Feb 2005 01:08 GMT1
My last post was concerned with my recently deceased male & female Convicts.
The question I have now concerns some of the offspring and their ability to
adapt to outside pond conditions BTW I'm in Sydney Australia, which means we
are currently in the throes of Summer, I could ...
Bigger tank  ---how long did it take?02 Feb 2005 00:55 GMT14
Have moved from a 3g to 5g to 26g(my wife bought it)  ;-}
I want the dolphins and other larger cichlids but realize that that
won't happen in my tank.  ;-(
Just curious how long it will be before I get the itch to get the 75g.
Good Plant How-To Links?01 Feb 2005 20:27 GMT6
Drat you people - now you've got me interested in my tank again.  I can do
fish, but never had any luck with aquatic plants.  Sigh...
I've read through all the posts here for the last 30 days or so, but still
have some questions. Is there a good site that can give me answers to ...
