Tank mates for an aggressive african cichlid (X posted)05 Mar 2005 15:34 GMT8
I have one aggressive African cichlid all alone in his tank.  He has
killed off all of his african tank mates.  Not exactly sure what he
is... kinda looks like a metriaclima zebra.  He's gorgeous but foul
tempered.

I feel bad05 Mar 2005 06:46 GMT21
Feeding smaller fish to bigger fish.  Is this wrong or is this an acceptable
practice, even if it's my fault for letting them breed in the first place.
I simply don't have any room for them.
Need more feedback on gravel siphoning....04 Mar 2005 22:18 GMT4
I posted a message here a while ago about how I needed to know if
gravel siphoning is a total requirement even if you just siphon water
from the tank because I have tanks with a lot of baby fancy guppies and
I don't want to suck any of them up and them dieing because of it. One
can big fluctuations in temp cause more disease vulnerabilities?04 Mar 2005 11:38 GMT5
I've sadly watched my two clown loaches die of ich...and that was the last
straw. Over the last year and a half since I started up the aquarium I've
had too many fish die from one disease or another...or just die from some
unknown cause. I've never had this problem years ago with ...

How to clean (keep) the water spots off the inside top of the tank?  This
tank has a permanent top and the water level is only two inches from the
Touching fish03 Mar 2005 22:56 GMT13
I have two blood parrots which can be very sociable at times.  If I put my
finger in the tank they will sometimes nibble at it, even though I think
they have figured out it isnt food.  Not as often, but sometimes they will
swim by my finger allow me to gently touch/stroke their ...
dwarf gourami respiration?03 Mar 2005 06:53 GMT1
Is it normal for dwarf gouramis to breathe relatively rapidly?
I have had one for three weeks now and while he appears to be healthy &
happy in every (other) way, his respiration seems very rapid to me - but
I am used to cold water fish.

Took over tank from someone else - new filter and syphoning question03 Mar 2005 02:09 GMT18
After a few years out of the hobby, took over a freshwater tank from a
neighbor who's having first baby, so now back into it!
Setup is a 20-gallon freshwater tank w/ 3 golden barbs (nice size), 3
leopard danios (on the small side) and a pleco (2-3 inches or so) -
Angel Fish Growth Question02 Mar 2005 23:26 GMT9

2 sharks, 2 bottom feeders and a pleco,

Yay new addition!02 Mar 2005 07:23 GMT12
I was just looking into my tank a moment ago and saw a brand new snail
species that's never been there before crawling across the glass.
Probably came in with the new plants I bought two weeks ago.
Unfortunately the snail is very small (I'd guess about a month old if
Brown Algae02 Mar 2005 06:42 GMT4
Is there a product to keep this stuff out of the tank, or an animal that
will eat it?
Why are there cobwebs in my tank?02 Mar 2005 03:53 GMT7
Hi eveyrone. I'm having a bit of an issue. I have two bettas hanging
out in a 10g tank. I've noticed that my tanks is full of cobweb-like
wisps. It is the strangest thing. It does not seem to be effecting the
bettas at all, they seem fine. But it seems like there is more of this
