I noticed at the local city aquarium last week that when new arrivals are introduced into a display tank they are enclosed in a cage for a period of time, to allow all of the participants to become acquainted with each other, while at the same time preventing the territorial

| Extremely Shy Pl*co | 26 Mar 2005 12:22 GMT | 9 |

I recently purchased a largish Siamease Algae Eater (2-3 inches) to help control the Algae in my tank. (Although it was sold to me as a "Large Flying Fox", from the descriptions on http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/ I'm pretty sure it's a true

My wife and I recently got into keeping turtles. We have two red-earred sliders under four months of age in a 40 gallon tank. We have several toys which had all been thoroughly cleaned when put them in the tank.

| hydras and guppy fry - help! | 24 Mar 2005 22:28 GMT | 2 |
This morning I noticed a hydra in my tank. It's pale-yellow, 2 mm long with six tentacles. Now it seems the more I look for them, the more I find - some are really small, less than 1 mm, some are larger. I even saw one sting a snail when it got too close.
