homemade Discus food24 Apr 2005 04:28 GMT1
I have found several recipes for making food, most of them include
garlic. Whats the garlic for, taste??
Zebra Plec*23 Apr 2005 20:27 GMT3
Is this right?  Here in BC Canada, some one said that Big Als has
Zebra Plec*s... Price $299.... I'm hoping they just forgot the decimal
point.

Splitting up one overpopulated tank into three23 Apr 2005 18:25 GMT3
I've been trying to maintain a new, overpopulated 25 gallon aquarium for
nearly a month now and have just decided on a new strategy.  I should
probably have done this sooner.  I've just purchased two additional 10
gallon tanks and will be setting them up this weekend so that I ...
prolapsed betta23 Apr 2005 17:59 GMT14
I posted the other day about a betta that appeared to have stuck poop.
It seems that isn't the case, he has a prolapsed intestine.  In other
words, there's about .5" to .75" of gut hanging out.  Glad I didn't try
to pull it off.
Treating Ich23 Apr 2005 16:47 GMT5
I have a newly setup tank and this is my first outbreak of ich.
Having done some research I am now completely confused as what cours
of action to take. Hopefully someone may have had a similar setup an

A quick question I have alwys wanted to ask....23 Apr 2005 15:38 GMT8
Should I put the dechlorinator in the tank water before topping it off
to make up for evaporation and keep the water safe for fish at all
times, or should I fill first, then put in the dechlorinator? What
about the previous in a water change situation as well? Thanks all!
Betta shredding plants23 Apr 2005 00:43 GMT8
My new Betta has taken to shredding the plants. He is in a 5UK gall tank -
that was a bit more planted than it is right now. He is sharing this
currently with around 6 1cm Platy fry. The tank is really the Quarantine
Tank but I planted it because I got fed up with looking at a bare ...

Looking for fish website22 Apr 2005 20:29 GMT4
I remember there being a fish website a few years ago, that listed the fish,
a picture, top - middle - or bottom swimmer, aggression level... all the
basic stuff to pick tank mates. I can not find that now. Does anyone know if
it still exsists? Thanks.
2.5 gallon hood22 Apr 2005 09:37 GMT21
My one betta was acting psycho in a divided tank, so I bought a 2.5
gallon for him.  Not a fancy one, a regular 6"x12" square tank.  The
literature that came with it (from Perfecto) says a hood is available.
The store (PetsMart) doesn't have them and Perfecto hasn't responded to ...
do female betas flare?22 Apr 2005 04:24 GMT3
my daughter was given a small female beta[1][2];
but, surprisingly, she flares to her image in the
mirror just like I've seen male betas do!
is this expected?
guppy fry disease question22 Apr 2005 02:31 GMT1
I got some female guppies from the lfs awhile back and one of them
happened to be pregnant.  By the time I got a breeder net after I got
home from work I had 14 fry left.  At this point I now have 8.  3 of
them disappeared? and 2 of them died(1 unknown causes other
Male Platys21 Apr 2005 10:32 GMT2
I used to have male and female Platys and (of course) the females kept
having babies.  I'm now down to two males that get along OK, but
occasionally the larger one briefly chases the smaller one.
Would there be any problem with adding a few more male Platys?  I want to
Film On Top of the Water20 Apr 2005 23:17 GMT6
This may sound a little weird, but I have begun to notice a film, almost like you would see if you mixed oil with water, on the top of my tank.  Granted the tank is only month old, but I have just noticed it with the last week or so.  The color is more of a grayish color?  Any ...
dissapeared Guppy?20 Apr 2005 22:11 GMT6
i have a 17 gal. tank with 30 guppies, and recently i found out that
one of the "fathers" had dissapeared, i didn't notice because it had
sons of the same color, but when i examined it in detail, it wasn't
there!
