I've got a mixed tank with Neons and Pristella tetras. One of the pristellas has developed a curved spine and swims vertically. I've heard that Neon Tetra Disease can be a bit like this. Does that

| Another reason for keeping inverts | 05 Apr 2005 03:52 GMT | 18 |
Last night I made quite a few changes to my tank. In fact in retrospect it was an irresponsibly large number of changes. But they were all changes I've made before without any problems so I didn't think much of it - still I shouldn't have done them all at once.

| Red Algae Problem | 05 Apr 2005 03:11 GMT | 5 |
I've had a freshwater 10G tank for about a year now. A month or two after I got the tank red algae (I assume that's what it is) appeared on the sides of the tank and on the plastic plants (there are no real plants).

| Freshwater Invertebrates | 04 Apr 2005 14:13 GMT | 7 |
We talk all of the time about fish and plants and water chemistry but it seems like freshwater invertebrates rarely come up except in the context of "how do I get rid of these things?" However I have been keeping a number of invertebrates for a while now and I think they

| Some Aquarium Glass Questions | 03 Apr 2005 23:47 GMT | 4 |
I've seriously considering a 5' x 3' x 3' tank for freshwater tropicals. It's beautiful, beautiful. But........ my current tank is a 4' chinese item with curved corners, and the glass scratches very easily, very easily. Nice tank, but I've buggered it up with

| Clown Loach being held prisoner by Pl*co | 03 Apr 2005 21:38 GMT | 19 |
This morning when I came downstairs I noticed that one of my big Clowns had got himself into the Pl*c's hollow in the driftwood. The Pl*co was blocking the exit (Queen Arabesque). This also happened a few days ago but I managed to persuade the Pl*c out with a wafer.

| Community Fish Question | 03 Apr 2005 20:23 GMT | 1 |
I have read that several fish do better in groups, six or more. Does that mean for instance 6 tetras, three of one type of tetra and three of another? Or does it mean 6 of the same type of tetra? I have three platies, one Mickey Mouse, one long finned and one gold wag and they ...

| Filtration Question | 03 Apr 2005 19:53 GMT | 18 |
I have a charcoal filter that that came with my 10 gallon tank starter-kit. I've been reading up on biological filtration. Am I correct in the fact that charcoal filters are not the same as bio filters? Since I don't have a bio filter, how imperative is it that I

| holiday advice | 03 Apr 2005 01:50 GMT | 4 |
I'm going away for 4-5 days; I have no worries about what to do with the coldwater tank but the tropicals have me a little puzzled. the other half will be busy and anyway I don't want to ask him to feed them more than once daily as I'm a little scared he'll overfeed, so
