Fish disease05 Apr 2005 09:10 GMT5
I've got a mixed tank with Neons and Pristella tetras.
One of the pristellas has developed a curved spine and swims
vertically.
I've heard that Neon Tetra Disease can be a bit like this.  Does that
pima fix safe for apple snails?05 Apr 2005 09:10 GMT12
I was thinking and after reading the bottle, Pimafix says its safe for
everything except scaless fish...
but what about snails??
No one is sick....the two sides of my brain are just debating...
Another reason for keeping inverts05 Apr 2005 03:52 GMT18
Last night I made quite a few changes to my tank. In fact in retrospect
it was an irresponsibly large number of changes. But they were all
changes I've made before without any problems so I didn't think much of
it - still I shouldn't have done them all at once.
Red Algae Problem05 Apr 2005 03:11 GMT5
I've had a freshwater 10G tank for about a year now. A month or two
after I got the tank red algae (I assume that's what it is) appeared on
the sides of the tank and on the plastic plants (there are no real
plants).

Freshwater Invertebrates04 Apr 2005 14:13 GMT7
We talk all of the time about fish and plants and water chemistry but
it seems like freshwater invertebrates rarely come up except in the
context of "how do I get rid of these things?" However I have been
keeping a number of invertebrates for a while now and I think they
strange cycling data...04 Apr 2005 00:42 GMT17
Hey everyone...
I started cycling my 750L on Saturday. I've been doing everything accrding
to the instructions, adding the ammonia everyday (been using seachems
ammonia alert as a guide) To my total amazment, my readings are....
Some Aquarium Glass Questions03 Apr 2005 23:47 GMT4
I've seriously considering a 5' x 3' x 3' tank for freshwater tropicals.
It's beautiful, beautiful.  But........
my current tank is a 4' chinese item with curved corners, and the glass
scratches very easily, very easily.  Nice tank, but I've buggered it up with
Clown Loach being held prisoner by Pl*co03 Apr 2005 21:38 GMT19
This morning when I came downstairs I noticed that one of my big Clowns had
got himself into the Pl*c's hollow in the driftwood. The Pl*co was blocking
the exit (Queen Arabesque). This also happened a few days ago but I managed
to persuade the Pl*c out with a wafer.
Community Fish Question03 Apr 2005 20:23 GMT1
I have read that several fish do better in groups, six or more.  Does that
mean for instance 6 tetras, three of one type of tetra and three of another?
Or does it mean 6 of the same type of tetra?  I have three platies, one
Mickey Mouse, one long finned and one gold wag and they ...
Algae Eater03 Apr 2005 20:15 GMT2
Is it true that the common Chinese Algae Eater doesn't really eat any algae?
Filtration Question03 Apr 2005 19:53 GMT18
I have a charcoal filter that that came with my 10 gallon tank
starter-kit.  I've been reading up on biological filtration.  Am I
correct in the fact that charcoal filters are not the same as bio
filters?  Since I don't have a bio filter, how imperative is it that I
Betta fry03 Apr 2005 11:45 GMT3
Man, these babies are growing! And eating like pigs! I thought my tw
microworm cultures would be enough... but it looks like I may have t
start another!
But it is so nice to look at the tank full of betta fry. Just lik
I am disenchanted with this hobby03 Apr 2005 03:31 GMT26
I own a tank for more than a month now and right now I have mixed
feelings about it.
It is not what I expected it to be and I am starting to think of
getting rid of it.
holiday advice03 Apr 2005 01:50 GMT4
I'm going away for 4-5 days; I have no worries about what to do with the
coldwater tank but the tropicals have me a little puzzled.
the other half will be busy and anyway I don't want to ask him to feed
them more than once daily as I'm a little scared he'll overfeed, so
