slightly stupid dwarf gourami?14 Jul 2005 10:51 GMT4
I have three dwarf gouramis (one male, two female) in a 32 inch
community tank; the two girls are relatively recent additions to this
tank (last month or so, I think). When I first got them they were the
most neurotic, timid fish I have ever seen but an extended period in
Missing Fish14 Jul 2005 09:57 GMT4
Hello, I am new to aquariums and bought a biorb a few weeks ago for my
daughter, we bought 3 platys to start the aquarium and have had them about 3
weeks. Last night however I could only see two fish, getting home from work
today I am definate there are only 2 fish. The other must ...
More about my new setup14 Jul 2005 01:44 GMT4
Ok, so I figure my tank is still cycling and I won't freak out about
the pH or the nitrite levels just yet.  The fish seem happy and active,
so I'm not super worried.  Now the question I have is about the plants
I have in there.  I have about six Vallisneria in there that seem to be
More about my Betta13 Jul 2005 23:38 GMT1
Following the advice I got from one or two of you, I have
moved my Betta (Bartholomew) into a 2.5 gallon tank. He
seems to like it!
This new tank has a filter (the other didn't). It doesn't
Cleaning a used tank13 Jul 2005 23:24 GMT4
I just bought a used 55 gallon tank and it has a lot of calcium deposits
around the top. I would like to clean this off before I set it up. I tried
to scrape it off, but it is slow going unless I use metal tool and I am
afraid I will scratch the tank glass and the plastic ...
Climbing Corys13 Jul 2005 13:08 GMT3
I'm frequently amazed at the behaviour of my fish.  Everthing I've read
says corys hate to leave the bottom.  In fact, when they go to the
surface for air, they dart up and back as quick as possible because they
only feel safe on the bottom.
chinese algae eater...13 Jul 2005 01:53 GMT3
I have been watching my chinese algae eater very carefully since
a few weeks after I got it and realised exactly what I had let
myself in for. The guy in the shop said that in his experience,
they only became aggressive if they didn't have enough to eat -

Just had 5 out of 6 tetras die in the last week.
Had previously had 4 of them surviving happily for a year.

Question on feeding12 Jul 2005 13:11 GMT1
Hi, I have a 8-gallon tank (BioOrb) with 5 small fish, 2 zebra danios
and 3 white cloud minnows.  I am worried about the smallest white
cloud.  I have had him for close to 3-4 years and I got him from
somebody who had him for at least a year.  So, for a little fish he is
True Siamese Alage eaters dying12 Jul 2005 10:24 GMT11
I bought six Siamese algae eaters which have been in my quaranteen tank for
a week and a half.
After a week for of them have died in successive days. Prior to them dying,
all were very active and did not
breeding Yo-Yo loaches?12 Jul 2005 01:21 GMT7
I have two Yo-Yo loaches about 2 years old in a
20 g tank.  Yesterday I noticed them engaged in an
activity that I would guess could be best described
as mating.
Good source of Discus, etc., in Central New Jersey??11 Jul 2005 01:27 GMT1
My 55 gallon tank is still cycling, but I'm already thinking ahead.
When I'm ready to start adding some serious fish, where should I go?  I
currently live in the Princeton, New Jersey area (zip code 08540).  Do
you have any suggestions?  I'd love to find a good source of reasonably
Black molly not eating10 Jul 2005 20:06 GMT8
I just started a new 10 gal tank with 2 zebra danios, 2 black mollies,
and 2 red mickey mouse mollies.  Everything seems fine except one black
molly isn't eating.  Another thing that I have noticed is that the tail
fin on this one is smaller than the tail fin on the other black ...
Algae eater in addition to Lazy pleco?10 Jul 2005 18:32 GMT7
My 10 Gal freshwater tank is being overrun by Algae.   The 1" Clown pleco
does not appear  to be up to the task.
I need another algae eater to accompany him, as well as my 1.5" Kuhli loach,
and 3 African dwarf frogs.
Bought some fish today and am wondering if anyone knows anything about them10 Jul 2005 17:55 GMT2
Went to LFS this afternoon for supplies, plants and some ottos - came back
with the supplies but also 3 other fish. I have actually been toying with
the idea of getting something that swims nearer the top for my Hex tank
(current occupents Panda Corys and Peacock Gobys).
