Vegetable oil a good fish-safe lubrication?31 Aug 2005 16:39 GMT10
You might have read one of my previous posts saying I put my penguin
bio-wheel power filter in my big tank. Well the first time I tried it it
wouldn't do anything. So I checked the impeller and sure enough it had
seized (froze) because I hadn't used it for a long time and so the ...
Rams Changing Colour31 Aug 2005 15:10 GMT9
I bought a couple of Rams. Unfortunately the guy at my LFS told me
that two males would be ok together and while they don't seem to fight
too much one is definitely the more dominant and chases the other one
off whenever he sees him. Thay both develpoed what I assumed was white
Deaths in an established tank (long post)31 Aug 2005 11:56 GMT7
B"H
HI, I have a 29g, two year old established tank. About two weeks ago, I
had an 8 hour power outage. A day later, I noticed I had a dead two
year old 5 inch snakeskin gourami. Three days ago, I saw my two year
Over inflated Cherry Barb30 Aug 2005 21:07 GMT1
One of my Cherry Barbs stopped eating, secluded itself and started
expanding in size. He started looking like a seal. Poor thing. Oh well.
That's probably the start of dropsy or kidney failure. I put him in a
quarantine tank and, using my own advice, put a tablespoon of Epsom

Too much water movement for tetras?30 Aug 2005 14:26 GMT12
I have a 20g long heavily planted tank in which I keep several species
of shrimp. I would like to add some fish and the only ones I can think
of that would not eat my shrimp are small tetras (neons, etc.). The tank
has an Eclipse hood, so the filter output generates quite a bit ...
Just to let you know....30 Aug 2005 04:23 GMT3
Hi all! I just need to let you all know that I won't be around for a
while as my computers seem to be dying of old age. My other computer
died and it's a motherboard problem (it is 3 or 4 years old and that
doesn't include previous shelf time), my second computer died and it
For those interested....30 Aug 2005 03:22 GMT2
I spent about $50 this weekend trying to drill and pipe two 10 gallon
tanks. That is, hands-down the worst idea I've had in the last six
months. What a stinking disaster Man!
I'll not try that again, EVER! on a glass tank. I don't know if I'll
neon rosy barbs30 Aug 2005 02:15 GMT2
Does anyone have these?  I am thinking of getting one or two for my
20G.  I have platies, neon tetras, harlequins and cherry barbs.  I
heard they can get up to 4 inches, but hope they are usually a little
smaller.  Would they get along with my group, and would it be OK to
Extremely shy clown loaches now have Ich29 Aug 2005 21:20 GMT43
I've been checking them daily for the last 13 days whenever they show
themselves and there was no problem. Then today, when I start to think about
moving them into the Community tank I spotted it. Just one or two spots this
morning and treated imediately with Protozin and higher ...
Feeding live bloodworm29 Aug 2005 11:36 GMT4
This is a dumb question but I've never fed any live food to any of my fish -
they take and enjoy the frozen stuff. However, I've got a problem with some
Ich ridden Clown Loaches that are just not feeding and are getting weaker.
I thought I might try giving them live bloodworm. Do I ...

Cardinal Tetras seem a littlw swollen28 Aug 2005 15:34 GMT2
I was feeding the fish today and I noticed that the Cardinal Tetras seem a
litle swollen around the belly. They seem swollen at the very bottom where
the silver stripe is located. They seem to be swimming OK and eating OK, but
this seems a little odd.
