| Help! - I've been snailed | 24 Aug 2005 00:29 GMT | 6 |
I've got a heavily planted 10 gallon tank with about 11-12 inches of fish in it (1 betta, 3 otos, 3 corys, 1 platy). It's had snails for some time, but I could keep them down to a few without too much trouble. About two weeks ago I had a snail explosion. They're everywhere. A

| Enough Filtration? | 23 Aug 2005 22:21 GMT | 20 |
AS I've said in a previous post, I am thinking of buying a 4ft tank. I was looking at ebay and other second hand sources, but the prices they are going for are putting me off as my LFS has a kit from Fluval that is brand new and costs not much more. I had a friend who bought a

Hiya lbg, we had a similar problem in a larger tank, 100 litre (approx 60 gallon) had snail explosion too. Clowns are big eaters as we found when we purchased 2 and go quickly about cleaning up the snails. They enjoy themselves immensely! I'd suggest purchasing one for your ...

| Stocking Considerations | 22 Aug 2005 23:15 GMT | 17 |
I put some plants in last night. Got a good deal on some undersized java ferns, a handfull of java moss, 3 small cryptos and something else that I can't remember the name of. I am about to buy my cycling stock, and am now thinking a handfull of danios may be the best option, as

| A CAE that actually Es A? | 22 Aug 2005 22:22 GMT | 2 |
It seems as though I've had turbulent few days in cycling my new tank.
>From one CAE dying from what I honestly believe was hypoxia, to a thick green cloud of bacterial bloom caused by naively lowering ph with vinegar, to a growth of green/grey hair algae that literally grew

| Suitable Companions for a Betta | 22 Aug 2005 16:13 GMT | 16 |
I have a Betta in a 20L tank (around 5UK gall) in the Kitchen. He shares this tank with a rather stunted Platy but from what I have been thinking and what I have just observed the time has come to move the Platy. Mr Bluey (the Betta) was watching me working in the Kitchen when the ...

Yep, I've been bitten. My bf sent flowers to me at the office on our anniversary, I thought the "vase" looked a bit odd lol, turns out it was a betta bowl. During a bad day at work - he popped by with a little guy, Figaro, for me. Talk about a pick me up! After getting Figaro ...

| cloudy new aquarium and low light | 21 Aug 2005 22:08 GMT | 3 |
I picked up a used aquarium, 75g with a penguin 330 filter, and a light hood with two 20 watt fluorescent bulbs. I bought new bio wheels and filter media as they were missing. I have two plastic buckets things in the back that are empty though what should I put in those? I also ...
