Making the jump from a couple of 10 gallon tanks to a 75 gallon30 Sep 2005 06:47 GMT13
Over the past four or so months, my family has been caring for fish.
We have learned a lot over the past months, and are thoroughly hooked
to the hobby.  Our LFS has a huge sale going next weekend.  They are
selling tanks and stands at cost, and then everything else is marked

Gourami Behaviour29 Sep 2005 23:23 GMT3
Last week, I thought all my tank warfare problems were over with the
departure of my CAE.
As part of my new fish stock, I purchased 2 gouramis, a gold one
(approx 3") and a blue (2.5"). I had suspected the gold would soon
Sick Dutch Ram29 Sep 2005 16:02 GMT3
As per previous posts I bought 3 Dutch Rams around 2 weeks ago (one
male/two females). A couple of days after buying them one of the females
died. Now the remaining female does not appear to be at all well. She is
very quiet and didn't feed this morning or properly yesterday (she ...
Well I knew I'm jinxed with Rams29 Sep 2005 15:49 GMT18
Bought 3 Dutch Rams for the 15gall I've just set up (seeded and
ammonia/nitrites at 0). Got 1 Male and 2 Females (LFS sells them as
singles or 3's). One of the females bonded instantly with the male. The
other female curled up and died today (bought them Wednesday).

Ich and temperature29 Sep 2005 07:07 GMT2
I've noticed lately that people recommend to increase the tank temp
when Ich breaks out.  This is because it speeds up the bacteria life
cycle so medications can work faster to kill it (I think).
If one were to not use medicaiton, should you then turn the tank temp

Crazy Clown Loaches29 Sep 2005 01:50 GMT20
This is going to seem like a stupid question I think. I bought myself
three clowns yesterday. I have been considering this for some time,
having even decided against it despite the fact that I bought myself a
much larger tank than I had orignally wanted/ bought just so I could
Bettas and Gouramis28 Sep 2005 21:29 GMT10
Hi.  My father went to the best LFS in the area and they sold him one of
those dwarf gouramis with the red sides (yes, I know this probably isn't the
scientific name :)  ).  They asked what other fish he had (55 gal tank) and
he said tetras and a betta.  They said "perfect - a nice ...
Bettas: Male and Females28 Sep 2005 21:19 GMT10
I have a male betta in a 2.5 gallon tank. I've had him a couple
of months. I have three female bettas in a separate 2.5 gallon
tank. I've had them for about a week. I'm going to transfer
all four into a 10 gallon tank. My question is who goes first -

Fish Evacuation27 Sep 2005 09:48 GMT1
To all those who replied to my request for suggestions, thank you.  I was
unable, fortunately, to take any fish with me.  We were 39 hours traveling
285 miles (one way) in 100 plus degree temps, so the fish would not have
survived, and when I returned home, my power had not gone ...
