| older aquarium | 27 Sep 2005 08:31 GMT | 1 |

I've finally upgraded from a 10 to a 55 gallon freshwater planted tank. 80 watts of flourescent lighting (pair of 4' GE Chroma 50's). Filtration courtesy of an AquaClear 300. Plants and fish seem to be doing fine.

| Rapid cycling bacteria | 25 Sep 2005 23:41 GMT | 14 |
I haven't wanted to jump in on the thread where people are debating about cycling, but I've had my attention drawn to a few new bacterial products that everyone should be aware of. According to some very experienced aquarists, all of these products can

| My CAE finally showed his true colours... which tankmates to choose? | 25 Sep 2005 22:46 GMT | 13 |
I have been reading with great interest comments that people had made about 3" and larger CAEs getting aggressive towards other tank inhabitants. Mine was always a reasonably placid sort of creature, spending every waking moment vacuuming everything in sight clean of

resulted in very clean water in three or four days. I am setting all my tanks up again, one went green. I used the HOT Magnum with the micron filter, the water is sparkly now. It's nice when something works out well.

| What's the air intake tube for? | 25 Sep 2005 05:33 GMT | 1 |
Please excuse my ignorance on filters, but I just bought an internal power filter 2400L/h, and the box doesn't have instructions. I put it together and it works well, you should have seen all the crud that my gravelvac didn't suck up... the filter sure did!
