I just bought a 15 gallon high All-Glass aquarium (w/ standard 10 gal
footprint), and I'm thinking about getting the Eclipse 1 hood to go on
top of it.  I've built a cabinet for it go to in, and need to know how

YoYo Loach25 Sep 2005 00:42 GMT2
I have had this yoyo loach for six years now. About a month ago he started
laying on his side, I thought he was dying. This went on for a few days and
then he acted normal again for about two weeks and then he has started this
behavior again. Any ideas or information of what ...
PH monitor24 Sep 2005 20:12 GMT3
Anyone knows a good PH monitor? I don't like the strips and don't want
to pay too much.
I have a cheap ammonia alert from Seachem and it works fine for me.
All you have to do is stick it to the inside of the tank.

anything.... What do the wise have to say about this?

results at least twice using Aquarium pharmaceutical's pH(6.0-7.6pH)
Newbie Day 1124 Sep 2005 14:29 GMT12
Just a quick update, since I've been very quiet (not at all like me
LOL)
All four danios look well and seem to be behaving normally.
Haven't added anything to increase the pH yet, it's been a very busy
Absolute Beginners24 Sep 2005 06:05 GMT93
I've never kept fish of any kind unless you count those goldfish I
won at fairgrounds 30 years ago - so please be gentle and tolerant of
my noob ignorance :-)
We want to keep some tropical fish. This is probably what we'll buy:
sound and tanks23 Sep 2005 15:08 GMT12
I recently bought a home and am looking to finish off the basement as a
family/party room.  I would like to put a tank in the room but my main
concern is the sound from a loud radio, tv, lots of people.  How much would
these sounds penatrate the tank and affect the fish?
Mystery fish deaths23 Sep 2005 07:48 GMT1
Ok I am trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my fish?
First off this is for a 90 gal heavily planted tank.  Here are the specs:

Going to try getting an older woman friend of mine started in fishkeeping at her request!23 Sep 2005 04:45 GMT22
An older woman friend of mine (Jeanette) recently told me she bought an 18
gallon tank for $4.00 U.S. dollars at a garage sale and says she wants to
get some pet fish. I would like any opinions on how I can help to as easily
as possibly get her tank set up as good as possible. ...
Building aquarium in old PC case (NEWBIE QUESTION)23 Sep 2005 04:38 GMT9
I'm attempting to build an old 386 PC into an aquarium, hardware and all. It will be setup in tower formation with a hole in the side for viewing and a removable top for maintenance. Aside from water sealing issues, is there any reason why I should flat-out NOT attempt this? Will ...

Derek Benson..I thought of something.22 Sep 2005 21:31 GMT17
I thought I remembered you saying in a post "when you were in the
States"..or something like that.
Is it possible that things are done differently in the country you are
in now, like quarantining fish before they're made available to the
Ottos or chinese algae eaters?22 Sep 2005 11:00 GMT4
So, I finally looked up ottos in my 1966 book and found that they are the
ones I used to know as chinese algae eaters! Imagine my surprise after
reading all about how chinese algae eaters become aggressive when older, and
then reading that the very fish I was always told in the ...
How many years does a tank last?22 Sep 2005 10:52 GMT6
I have a tank which is about 15 years old.
My partner says that I should think about replacing it, as at that age it's
likely to spring a leak and flood the house.
Is he right?
