I just bought a 15 gallon high All-Glass aquarium (w/ standard 10 gal footprint), and I'm thinking about getting the Eclipse 1 hood to go on top of it. I've built a cabinet for it go to in, and need to know how much vertical space the Eclipse needs above the tank. I have approx.

Anyone knows a good PH monitor? I don't like the strips and don't want to pay too much. I have a cheap ammonia alert from Seachem and it works fine for me. All you have to do is stick it to the inside of the tank.

Hi All again, ok i tested my tank again tonight and my readings are: ph 7.2, nitrite .5, nitrate 5, amonia .1. my fish seem to be ok, although my clown loaches seem to be kind of lazy one seems to hide in my flower pot. Also when I first go them I noticed my snail population ...

I suppose I am looking for more of a blessing to continue more than anything.... What do the wise have to say about this? First, I kept everything clean, free from contamintaion and checked results at least twice using Aquarium pharmaceutical's pH(6.0-7.6pH)

Just a quick update, since I've been very quiet (not at all like me LOL) All four danios look well and seem to be behaving normally. Haven't added anything to increase the pH yet, it's been a very busy

I've never kept fish of any kind unless you count those goldfish I won at fairgrounds 30 years ago - so please be gentle and tolerant of my noob ignorance :-) We want to keep some tropical fish. This is probably what we'll buy:

I recently bought a home and am looking to finish off the basement as a family/party room. I would like to put a tank in the room but my main concern is the sound from a loud radio, tv, lots of people. How much would these sounds penatrate the tank and affect the fish?
