Just curious if anyone knows of a source for realistic-looking artificial fish that could be used while waiting to set up a tank for real fish.

| Cycling question | 17 Sep 2005 21:24 GMT | 3 |
I have a question about cycling. About 3 weeksago I set up a 70g new tank, using gravel and media from and established tank. I seeded with ammonia(to 5ppm), and within 7 days my ammonia and nitrites were at 0. No plants in the tank. I seeded again to 2 ppm and nitites and ammonia

| old air pump | 17 Sep 2005 18:16 GMT | 1 |
I've mentioned the 20L I got cheap at a garage sale recently. Along with it was an old air pump. I mention it here in case someone remembers it with nostalgia. It's in a wooden box with dentil molding style protrusions all over. It

| Small herbivorous fish? | 17 Sep 2005 03:09 GMT | 8 |
Does anyone know of any small plant/algae eating fish that would work in a desktop aquarium or filtered bowl? I'm looking for something to keep at school which I can feed 2-3 times a week and which would forage on plants/algae for the rest of its diet. Supplying enough fresh ...

Hello fishy folks. If anyone has an Eclipse system tank in their home, I urge you to get up after you read this and take a gander at the transforner housing for the fluorescent light fixture.

| Rainbow Fish | 16 Sep 2005 22:34 GMT | 27 |
I recently bought two Blue Rainbow fish from a shop. They told me that these were hardy fish and that they only needed to be kept in ones or twos. I got them home and then read contradictory testimony on the web that suggested they prefer to be kept in threes or more.

| test kits | 16 Sep 2005 04:25 GMT | 6 |
I've been wondering what test kits (brand) I should buy. I've found an API master test kit for $15.00 (includes pH, high-range pH, nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia). Since basically any two kits allone would cost this much, I think its a good buy. But I was

I have a 40G currently stocked with (4) Tiger Barbs (3) Clown Loaches and a growing ple*co. I want to remove the stock of barbs and place a silver angel in there that is not getting along with his tank mates in another setting. Will the loaches pick him apart???? They seem ...

| Cleanup crew for the guppies | 15 Sep 2005 22:24 GMT | 1 |
I have a 10 gallon tank with a pair of guppies. No fry yet but it's just a matter of time. I'd like to add something to cleanup the bottom of the tank but won't wipe out the impending fry. Is there a small catfish or something else that will do the trick?

| how to shut down an aquarium..humanely | 15 Sep 2005 18:31 GMT | 11 |
I have a 55 gal that I no longer have time or energy to maintain. I'm trying to see if there are humane ways to shut down a tank when your done with it without doing the immoral/illegal thing(dumping them in the creek).

| betta ponderings | 15 Sep 2005 15:48 GMT | 6 |
*disclaimer: I have very little experience with bettas short of keeping a male one in a fish bowl. I also have no intentions on trying this, so don't get all worked up. I'm just wondering.* My previous post was asking about female bettas, and I've been sitting
