| Platy Baby | 28 Oct 2005 21:41 GMT | 3 |
The saga of the tanks continue, I was just about to separate out an aggressive platy when my #1 son, with the eyes of a hawk, noticed that we no longer had 2 platies but 3.... or should I say 2.01?

In my tank, there are two sailfin mollies, two black mollies and one silver molly. There are also three fry of varying sizes, all black, with the largest having some pale-coloured patches on its abdomen. I know one of the fry came home from the LFS, but I don't know where

| Single male betta in community tank | 28 Oct 2005 06:24 GMT | 13 |
I would like the opinion of users in this group please. My LFS (being conservative, and responsible) recommends against putting a male betta in my connunity tank, because of the potential for fin-shredding action. This is not based specifically on my tank, or it's inhabitents,

| Dreaded Newbie questions... | 28 Oct 2005 03:33 GMT | 16 |
I'm new here and new to fish-keeping and have a question for you. First some background... After what I thought was adequate research (isn't that always the way?) and after talking to some folks in fish stores, I decided not to get a tank because everyone said you'd better

I have a 135-gallon aquarium housing 3 Leporinus fasciatus, each about 6-7 inches in length. Quite often, I see a pair of them swimming side-by-side, pushing against each other while swimming, as if mating. This happens pretty often.

| Sick Blue Dwarf Gourami | 27 Oct 2005 19:21 GMT | 1 |
I have 3 Dwarf Gourami's and only one is sick. A few weeks ago I noticed that his fins were ripped and he had some red spots on his body. My LFS told me to try Mardel's Meracyn-2. After a week there was no change. Next they suggested I used Melafix (Tea tree extract). After

| Sodium thiosulphate | 27 Oct 2005 14:13 GMT | 10 |
I have been trying to source a supply of dechlorinator that does nothing but dechlorinate. According to my LFS the Tetra product only contains Sodium thiosulphate, but the label says that it will also remove heavy metals. Does Sodium thiosulphate remove metals as well as chlorine? ...

| That thing crawling around in my tank | 26 Oct 2005 06:19 GMT | 5 |
Some may recall the thing that looked like some sort of bug crawling around in my tank. It was crawling up the glass, evetually I lost track of it. From looking at weblinks sent to me I thought it was a waterbug. This morning it showed up again, crawling across one of my white ...

| New Betta Pics | 25 Oct 2005 23:34 GMT | 6 |
Hi. This is the betta I just put into the Eclipse 5 that is running in the mid 80's. The hood light is very hot, so maybe changing that to fluorescent will help some. I also dropped the water level down below the motor, but the temp is still running high. Maybe the water flow ...
