Bettas and Temperature25 Oct 2005 00:17 GMT16
Hi.  I last posted about what kind of small tank to get for my new betta.  I
ended up with an Eclipse corner 5 tank (5 gal).  I also picked up a 25 watt
heater as I was concerned about temp changes even though someone here said
his 3 gal didn't fluctuate at all.  I guess the lfs guy ...
Wilma coming24 Oct 2005 00:28 GMT7
Well we have the shutters up, the patio furniture thrown in the pool, the
yard picked up, boat filled with water and did large water changes on all 4
tanks and pond. Boy am I tired. Now it's a waiting game to see just how bad
we get it. Fortunately Wilma is not packing quite the ...

how to make an aquarium, (100 gallon)?21 Oct 2005 23:20 GMT12
I would like to know how to make an aquarium, if possible 100 gallons.
I have some koi, and i know that they live in ponds but we live in an
apartment so that isn't possible.  I would like to make an aquarium
because buying one isn't good for my budget.  I have more than 7 kois
Feeding Siamese algae eaters21 Oct 2005 19:01 GMT1
Hi, my four Siamese algae eaters were up until a week ago eating only
carnivore pellets and the odd pea. Last week I tried to get them eating
algae wafers again and I also brought some tetra plecomin tabs, but they
wont eat them. They will eat flake food, but I find it hard to not ...
Looking at Betta Tanks21 Oct 2005 03:35 GMT15
Hi.  I'm just looking for something simple and cheap for a betta.  I was
looking at a couple of models from 3 to 6 gallons.  They are a package deal
with a light hood and filter, and are quite inexpensive.  They don't come
with a heater, and don't even mention the need for one, but ...
What do I do now (with these reading)21 Oct 2005 03:15 GMT1
I have been taking out 1/4th of the water in my 20 gallon tank for the last
week. The four remaining fish seem to be doing well (After the quick die off
of the other 4) and have been taking readings twice a day. I am not changing
the water again until Sunday (When I have time). Here ...
cork20 Oct 2005 17:55 GMT4
Somewhere I ran across the idea of using cork for a backdrop.  Looking
around on the web, I've found cork bark and cork wall tiles.
The cork bark is way too thick - usually 1"-2".  I don't want to take
that much out of a 12" deep aquarium.  The wall tiles are mostly 3/8"
My silver dollars ain't got no tails!20 Oct 2005 08:19 GMT6
I have a 75 gallon tank with: six large silver dollars (4 inches),
four large goramis, three big bala sharks (six inches), two clown
loaches, a few cory cats, assorted tetras, two tiger barbs, and a
plecostamus.  (sorry about the spelling). I keep the tank at 78
Starting all over :-(20 Oct 2005 08:16 GMT20
As some of you may remember from previous posts, about 4 months ago, I
decided to set up my fish tank. After previous success with a fishless
cycle, I did it again. Once my ammonia dropped, I added my fish. A black
ghost, 4 tiger barbs, 2 mollies, a cory and a pleco (I have a 29 ...

Tank Cycling questions19 Oct 2005 01:54 GMT12
Just have a few questions about tank cycling.  About 4 weeks ago I
moved my baby oscar from a 20g to a 64g (~240L) tank.  He loves it.  I
put as much water from the 20g tank into the 64g tank, since it had
cycled (well it had 4 betta females in it and a male occasionally for

I'm making planters out of cross-stich sheets and nylon thread, then
when I have the right shape using aquarium silicone to cover them in
either aquarium gravel or river rocks (some of each.)
The substrate in the planters is going to be laterite mixed with
