Guppy Deformed or pregnant??04 Oct 2005 21:33 GMT1
I've purchased some fancy guppies and when I got them home one of the
females looks deformed. All of the others are straight but she has a
crooked back. It's straight until just before the base of her tail and
then it curves down and straightens back out. Could she already be
Pepper Cory Lying Upside Down04 Oct 2005 21:17 GMT14
Well, after having successfully treated ich in my tank, it seems one of
my cories isn't doing that well.  I have 7 black neon tetras, 5 pepper
cories and 2 plecos.  My temperature is back down around 78F and I
treated with salt and velvet.  The ich on the tetras seems to be gone,
need old 14" light bulb replacement04 Oct 2005 15:22 GMT3
I have set up an old tank and need to replace the fluorescent bulbs in
two hoods - the fixture works fine but the bulbs are 30 years old and
weakening. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a 14" replacement bulb
(I need two). The present bulbs are labeled Sylvania Enhance F14T8-EN.
Rocks04 Oct 2005 11:10 GMT3
Are there types of rocks that one could add to a tank or small pond, that
would buffer pH? For instance, limestone, marble, slate. I'm not inerested
in being a chemist and adding pH up or down, I think that can do more harm
than good. My tap water is 7.6, but for some reason all ...
Pepper Cories and Botia04 Oct 2005 03:08 GMT11
This is more a curiousity post as I don't keep Pepper Cories, just
Pandas, and these don't live with my loaches. Although I do know someone
that has just gone this route.
I was just doing some googling on Pepper Cories and saw a throw away
Oil slick in my tank03 Oct 2005 21:19 GMT11
I recently got a 64 gal tank, it's been housing a 3in baby red tiger
oscar for 3 weeks.
Since I filled it 3 weeks ago, I've noticed a residue on the surface of
the water which has a slight rainbow appearance with the light shining
pH question02 Oct 2005 22:36 GMT8
Any suggestion as to what I can put into my small 160g pond to lower pH?
Should I add a certian type of rock, or should I remove some of the ones
that are in there? What type are good to raise or lower pH?
Thanx
Sick Blue Dwarf Gourami02 Oct 2005 20:59 GMT1
I noticed he had some pieces missing on his tail. The next day I
noticed a white edging around the tail where the pieces were out. I
went to my LFS and they told me to use Maracyn-Two and said I didn't
have to quaranteen him.

Here is the situation:
I have a 10 gallon tank and 10 days ago my zebra danio was at the
bottom of the tank gasping for air, and the color of his head appeared
very dark, almost black. His gills were very puffy and red too.
Curious as to what fish people buy to placate their significant others01 Oct 2005 18:16 GMT16
Recently Fantastic Derek posted that he bought some FW Spotted Puffers
as his wife likes them....personally I have to maintain a school of Neon
Tetras for my husband....just curious what fish people buy to placate
their other halves or if indeed they do so....
Singapore/wood shrimp in community tank01 Oct 2005 08:42 GMT6
Hi all, apologies if this is an inappropriate question, as I am a
beginner to aquaria and also using a new newsgroup reader.
I have a very small (10 g) freshwater tank with two neons (remnants
from a school that was bought too early into cycling--beginner's
