Best way to clean my molly tank of snails?10 Jan 2006 02:38 GMT13
I have a 30 gallon hex tank that is running nicely (healthy plants,
good water quality), that has 5 adult mollies and 7 four week-old
babies in it.
The tank is being totally over-run by trumpet snails.  Two months ago I
Do Dwarf Gouramis eat snails?09 Jan 2006 16:21 GMT7
I was watching my male Dwarf Gourami in the 15 gall kitchen tank this
morning. The tank is suffering from a snail infestation at the moment.
He was picking the snails off of the glass, holding them for a few
seconds in his mouth and then throwing them down onto the substrate.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing:  the Pleco in my s9 gallon tank
at the top, with his back arched, treading water and skimming for the
flake food floating there.
I have 2 more in a 75 gallon tank, but have never seen them feed from

algae eater for cool water tank08 Jan 2006 04:03 GMT3
I'd like to get something to take care of the lgae in my goldfish
tank.  I have one goldfish and am wondering if any algae eaters can
handle cool water.  Maybe a snail or two that won't reproduce to the
extent that I need to get some clown loaches and then start a new tank
How fast do flagfish grow?08 Jan 2006 00:09 GMT4
I just had the oddest experience.  I was feeding the outdoor 38 gallon
tank and counting fishy noses. I sat very still for a while and my
reclusive pair of Florida flagfish (Jordanella floridae) came out from
the weeds.  Then, to my shock, a third adult flagfish came swimming ...

I have a 6g with a betta and two panda corys.  I'm torn between 2 more
corys and an otto (pushing the limits I know) or one Cory and one
otto.
OR  .....since the betta just hangs out in the corners(doesn't like
Anyone know anything about Gertrude's Blue Eye Fish (AKA Rainbow)07 Jan 2006 15:36 GMT4
Spotted some of these little fish at the LFS today (on special offer to
clear). From my initial googling they seem to be tiny Rainbow fish. I'm
looking for something to put in my Hex tank following a total wipe out
when they got overfed while we were away - long story and under ...

Hi Fish Group,
Are Clown loaches in a "species" tank OK for cats entertainment? Will
they get stressed out from cats toying with them?
Details: My roomie has moved out and is taking his 10 gal tank with him
wild fish stroy06 Jan 2006 20:39 GMT2
this is one of the coolest sites I've ever seen sense I've adopted this
hobby in 1984:
I have a juvenile giant goramy

Recap: 20 gal. Aquaclear 20-30. Gouramis, Molly's, Swords, Tetras, Loaches.
Some live plants. Ornamentation (Hiding places for the fish).
The tank was cycled, the water was crystal clear, all the strip readings
were perfect then I made a mistake. I did a water change (20%) and media
Pregnant Molly06 Jan 2006 04:39 GMT1
I have a very very pregnant molly that's looked like it's about to pop
for a week now...so far nothing has happened. Can anyone tell me if
there are any signs to watch for when they are about to drop (it's a
black molly so you can't see the gravid spot unfortunatly).
