| Magnum 350 cartridge, LOUD! | 27 Feb 2006 17:13 GMT | 14 |
Now that my 10G tank is nice and healthy (no losses for 6 months!), I'm finally getting back to my 55G. For a few years, I've had a Penguin hang-on-the-back filter, but the filters never seemed to fit it quite right and I wasn't really sure

| Stuck In Mid Cycle | 27 Feb 2006 12:36 GMT | 10 |
I've been cycling a 15 gallon tank for about two weeks, and I seem to be stuck in mid cycle. I've never cycled without fish before, and I was in no hurry to get this tank going, so I just moved a handful of ripe gravel from an old tank into it and added a couple of big bushes

| 125 litre community tank | 27 Feb 2006 04:14 GMT | 6 |
Since the background is still in place, the levels of everything in the water are perfect, and the fish are looking good, what's a fish- keeper to do? Well, plan what to do next, of course! :-) And since I didn't buy that marine set-up last night, here I am

| Update: Poor Person's Python | 26 Feb 2006 21:21 GMT | 4 |
To whomever was asking me about building my own Python-like water changer, there are one or two things I forgot to add. The Real Python has a water shut off near the aquarium, which appears to be very conveniently placed. In my first prototype, I added a similar shutoff,

| limit guppies reproduction rate? | 25 Feb 2006 17:15 GMT | 15 |
I have a small tank at home with, among other species, some guppies. My problem is that the enviroment seems way too well suited for guppies. They seem to reproduce at an incredible rate. I got 3 females and 2 males 3 months ago and each month I have to give away 30 young ones.

| Feeding... | 24 Feb 2006 23:34 GMT | 17 |
I'm new to fish keeping. I have 5 inches of tropical fish in a 6 gallon tank and have been given widely differing advice on feeding from my two local fish shops. On said a whole 1cm cube of brine shrimp every two days, another said five flakes of regular fishfood twice a day

| Ack! Custom dyed fish! | 24 Feb 2006 21:48 GMT | 8 |
This is twisted beyond belief. Not only are companies dying fish, but according to PFK, you can now have the name, logo, or symbol of your choice tattoed onto a fish by a company in Taiwan. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/item.php?news=850
