I found the company's website - they sure do make a lot of claims for
the product, but give little clue as to what's in it.

how to change PH levels31 Mar 2006 10:50 GMT20
I have a 3' tropical tank which has a pH of 6 and very high nitrates.
I have been doing 1/2 tank water changes for 3 days.  It has a spotted
sailfish (called Claude), DIscus, Angels and Gouramis in it.
How do I get it back to normal?  The bloke at the fish shop advised
55-gal tank stocking question30 Mar 2006 23:41 GMT22
I'm working on setting up a new 55-gal tank and would like some ideas
about fish. I'm thinking that I'd like to have some top feeders, some
bottom feeders, and some in-between feeders. (My tetras only eat the
food as it sinks -- won't go to the top or bottom to eat -- so I end up
What's wrong with my poor betta?! His belly exploded over a 9hr period!30 Mar 2006 20:29 GMT10
Today when I left for work, my betta looked something like this:

When I came back from work today, he looked like this (the photo is a
bit blurry but I think you get the gist):
Goldfish - sudden deformed mouth ???30 Mar 2006 18:51 GMT14
As I shut the lights off on the tanks I noticed one of my GF had a problem
with his mouth.   It looks like someone pinched his nostrils together and
forced his bottom jaw out - into almost a point.  It looked dislocated and
very narrow vertically (from the front).  From the side ...
Is there a natural way to raise tank alkalinity30 Mar 2006 10:10 GMT19
I have a 20g fresh water tank that is 3+ years old.
Our water is naturally soft and I have problems keeping the PH up.  It is a
community tank and I would like to keep the PH around 7.0.  It is currently
about 6.6.
Black Beard Algae PROBLEM30 Mar 2006 02:41 GMT9
I need to eliminate the algae in my tank. I have been able to cut back
the lighting and to control the stuff on the glass. However,  black
beard algae is growing on my gravel. I tried removing the affected
pieces but it comes back. BTW, I have a UV sterilizer. Can I remove
New Tank29 Mar 2006 18:32 GMT37
A really good friend of mine is giving up fishkeeping and has offered
to pass on his 120 litre (30 US Gal / 25 Imp Gal) tank.  I've been
wondering what to put into it.  These are my ideas:
(1) Small tiger barb community: 8 tiger barbs, 4 swordtails, 1
update on fish /new29 Mar 2006 18:06 GMT12
Ok just got back from Petsmart.
(Mr. Gardener) I told them my friend wanted to know their policy when they
got sick fish in the tank, do they use a sign and close the tank, or what.
A: only when the fish are sick with a contagious disease. (as in ich or
Angelfish problem29 Mar 2006 17:14 GMT37
I have a 140 litre (37 US Gallon) tank, with external eheim filtration,
which contains:
3 Angelfish (2 male, 1 female) - the larger male is about 3 inches from nose
to tale, whist the other 2 are probably 2 1/2 inches.
Breeding Angel Fish29 Mar 2006 14:20 GMT4
Two of my Angels are in the process of laying and fertilising 300-500 eggs
on a leaf in my 50gal tank. I've bred Angles before (this pair were two of
the 40-50 that I reared); I've set up a small bottle of distilled water to
hang in the  tank and treated it with a drop of ...

Recommendation or 2 about dealing with overpopulation....28 Mar 2006 18:52 GMT41
Only time will tell - it sure has. I cannot seem to be able to keep my
nitrites down any more and the silver dollars were breathing/gilling hard
before my latest water change (1 hour ago) and the fancy guppies are dieing
off approximately one every 2 days (unfortunately females - ...
Melafix does not contain tea tree oil28 Mar 2006 18:21 GMT40
I found the MelaFix patent and now I know why the stuff doesn't smell of
tea tree.  There's no tea tree oil in it.  Everyone (Including Doc
Johnson at KoiVet) just assumed that Melaleuca referred to M.
alternifolia.  I think it's a slightly misleading marketing ploy because
hornwort needs28 Mar 2006 18:05 GMT27
Hey, good morning....
quickly I will ask this.... I got hornwort at the store, one for my guppies
who don't appreciate the fake stuff in their tank, and when they have babies
they can hide in it, i'm done dipping all those babies out, second for the
