How suspend a metal halide light?15 Mar 2006 20:26 GMT1
I've got two 150 watt metal halide lights I'd like to suspend above my
aquarium. Ideally, it should be possible to raise & lower them easily.
Thing is - the fixtures weigh 5 kilo (about 10 pounds) each.
The roof is hard concrete, and I'll use an expander bolt to hold hem,

Any bioligists here (Question-Tank fish vs wild fish)15 Mar 2006 17:46 GMT15
Just sitting here and this occured to me. I see lots of posts here about
fish with this and that disease, how to treat etc. I am an avid fisherman. I
fish both fresh and salt water but primarily freshwater (Cat, Crappy, other
perch, bass). Anyway, my question is:

height and each side of the hexagon is 1". I am not sure if i worked it
out correctly but I think it holds 140L or around 36g. Does that sound

Hornwort clogging up tank?13 Mar 2006 13:03 GMT16
I have a ton of hornwort growing in one of my tanks (the silver dollars, 1
angel fish, a couple white cloud mountain minnows, and a ton of fancy
guppies) and have noticed female guppies and a couple of male fancy guppies
possibly getting stuck in the mass of hornwort. I haven't ...
Quarantine13 Mar 2006 03:22 GMT34
I'm planning on going to buy some clown loaches tomorrow. Well,
probably clown loaches - this is my eldest's choice; we'll look at
the yo-yos and zebra loaches too, and I'll explain the pros and cons,
but in the end, it's his birthday money, so it's up to him.
Mulm Suspension Speeds13 Mar 2006 00:21 GMT1
For perspective, I am trying to design a combination tropical water
garden indoor/outdoor pond/aquarium.
That sounds pretty daunting by itself, but please don't let that
derail the discussion -- my present question, (I think, hope) is

Hey Netmax.........12 Mar 2006 22:51 GMT5

tank, since it already has lots of perfectly placed holes in the glass
Gel food in the UK12 Mar 2006 15:10 GMT4
Hi, I've seen that a lot of people responding on this page are from the
UK.  Is it true that Tetra do a good selection of gel food in the UK?
Have looked here (US) and have found none except online.  Would rather
try a pack first without doing a fair sized order.  I'm going to
using driftwood12 Mar 2006 14:09 GMT20
how long should I be soaking drift wood before putting it in my tank?
I've got a piece soaking for a week and a half. The water is still
brownish. Should i keep going until the water doesn't change colour? Or
can I put it in my tank already? Thanks in advance.
custom-sized filter medium11 Mar 2006 22:36 GMT1
I'm building a custom-made fish habitat structure, kind of like
NetMax's styrofoam scultpure (which is way-cool in my book), only
