For those not aware - last weekend I set up a six foot - 136 US gall tank. We also installed a Fluval FX5 which has been running since Sunday. All the filter medium is new - the filter medium from the existing tank will go over with the fish but not before.

well, I have 4 gouramis, 1 of which showed signs that resembled hole-in-the-head disease few months ago (patches of scales starting to turn white, and periodically peeling off in flakes). So I have been cleaning tanks, changing water, etc, and also medicating with drugs

Because a) everyone here has been so helpful and b) I'm so pleased with how my tank looks now... It looks good. :-) The plants and a couple of extra rocks and bits of wood have made such a difference, and I swear the fish are excited

I found a nice tank back that I thought the group might like. plastic table cloth from the dollar store. many different colors I got a black one 6' x 4' cut it into three pieces one for each tank. it clung to the back of the tank. I love it! and all for $1.00

Can I keep mature tinfoil barbs and/or bala sharks with a pair of BJD's if the Dempseys are ~1.5" when introduced to the tank? This would be a 180 gal. If no, would 2 BJD's be ok in a 110 Xtra tall alone? Thanks,

I have noticed in the past few days that my filter is causing a low buzzing sound from vibrating in the tank. I have one of those internal filters. I don't know what it is but sometimes you can it vibrating against the tank and you can feel the vibrations if you put your hand
