Hey guys, I finally posted my updated website this weekend. There are
still a few pages that haven't been updated but I don't really have
experience in web design so it's a slow process.
Small North American Cold-water Fish17 Apr 2006 14:37 GMT5
Hi..
I've heard about pretty North American minnows of 3-4"
maximum. Unfortunately I don't know their colloquial or
scientific names.
Fish for the new 55-gal17 Apr 2006 14:14 GMT15
Okay. I've been looking at fish and trying to figure out what to
put in my 55-gallon tank (which is sort of still in the design
process). I'll start with a layer of Laterite covered by regular
aquarium gravel. I'll also have at least 20 plants before the fish
Quick Cycle Question.17 Apr 2006 12:51 GMT4
Hello, just a quick question about my 10g.  I have no idea where I am
in the cycle.  I set the tank up just over a month ago.  I put in a
hand full of gravel, a few cups of water and an ornament from my 55g.
I added food a couple of times just to let it rot in there.  I set the
A note/question on chain stores and fish age17 Apr 2006 10:00 GMT1
Someone had mentioned in a thread about my ever growing Sailfin Pleco,
that the chain stores do often go out of their way to point out things
like:  "Hey you realize that fish will grow to be a foot or longer...How
big is your tank?"
Too many fish?17 Apr 2006 00:38 GMT62
Hi group.
I'm very new to keeping fish and I'd like to check something out that has
been said to me about the number of fish I have in my tank.  The tank is 24"
x 15" x 12"
Oil in my fish bowl!!16 Apr 2006 15:17 GMT5
I've had a film of oil floating onto of  my betta bowl for like 2 weeks
now. To begin with I thought it was because It was in the kitchen. So i
moved him, took everything out and washed it and rinsed the bowl in hot
water and then filled it put and waited over night before putting ...
Fish combo for gift16 Apr 2006 06:57 GMT4
I am planning on getting a large rectangular vase for use as a fish
tank for my partner for his birthday.  It will fit into a "feature
wall" space in his house which will mean the vase base will be about
10cm x 30cm.  The space goes all the way to the ceiling from about my
Sick molly question16 Apr 2006 04:10 GMT9
I've got a molly who has been gradually getting thin and he recently
started to shimmy.  I was hoping he'd get better on his own since the
water is good in is tank, but I've become convinced that I need to
intervene.  He eats quite a lot for being so thin so I'm figuring he's
Are larger fish slower than smaller ones of the same species?16 Apr 2006 03:56 GMT1
just wondering... would a 10cm long oscar be a faster or slower swimmer
than a 5cm long oscar?  You can probably guess why I'm asking...
I would have thought a smaller fish would be a faster swimmer than a
larger one, but then the larger one has more power.  And it seems as

Clown Loaches and Yoyo loaches15 Apr 2006 20:42 GMT3
Has anyone here tried mixing the two...and if yes was it a happy union
or are there problems?
I'm still thinking on my tank mix options...
TIA
Filter Opinions - What do you all use?15 Apr 2006 19:36 GMT25
I am new to the group.
I would like to get a feel for the types of filtration people use in
freshwater setups.
I have 2 tanks:  a 29g filtered with a Aquaclear 350 and a Penguin 300.

I cant for the life of me right now remember the name of the plants I have
in my female betta tank, if I get time ill take a pic, but is there
something I can do to help the plants not die, they don't look great, I am
not going to be home a lot of the next couple days my brother ...
