trimming sword plants20 Jul 2006 17:32 GMT2
Ok, rookie question time.  I've got a 26g tall fully planted tank. The
swords are getting tall and thick.  Should I trim them straight across
and or thin them out at the base.  The others I just take a scissors
and trim them several inches shorter.
Betta and Neons not getting along19 Jul 2006 16:14 GMT3
I started with 4 neons and 1 male betta in a 5G tank. After about 2
months I noticed that only 3 neons were left. About a month later only
2 left. He seems more and more agressive towards them as he chases them
around the tank. It seems as if it is a food issue and he chases them
Question from reporter19 Jul 2006 16:10 GMT2
Hello all! I'm working on a story about taking unique pets on vacation.
I've heard that folks travel with favorite fish. Have any of you ever
taken one or more fish along on holiday? You may either email me
directly or post back to the list if you think this topic is of

Beat the Heat TOO WELL x-p15 Jul 2006 11:46 GMT2
Hi all and hope some of you may recall my topic "Beating the Heat" in
which I worried about the high temps our tanks were getting at with
this summer temperatures.
Took your advice and used the fan method, which worked...too well,
Activated carbon lifespan14 Jul 2006 20:50 GMT12
I use activated carbon in a power filter for my aquarium.  I probably
don't really need it since I do 20% water changes each week anyway, but
I like to have the water as free of impurities as possible and it does
seem to make it smell cleaner :-)  I'm interested in knowing how to ...

Anyone know how long QuickCure will last in the bottle before it's no
longer affected?  It's made by Aquarium Products; I couldn't find the

Tings you shouln't do after gettin smoked out.11 Jul 2006 16:10 GMT9
1. Try to make a meal with more than two ingredients.
Its best just to stick to the simplest of meals as green negates the
ability to think about more than one thing at once.
2. Move around a lot.

Vivarium/Terrarium10 Jul 2006 21:32 GMT3
I have a spare 29g, and I thought it would be cool to create a vivarium.  I
would like to have land with the appropriate plants, and a "swimming" area
for a couple of small fish.
I would like to know where on the web I could find examples and how to set
