Most Aggressive or Territorial Freshwater Fish17 Aug 2006 17:38 GMT18
I am trying to find out what the most aggressive or territorial
freshwater fish in the world is.  I'd like to find one that in the wild
sets up a very small and fiercly defended habitat.  That finds a space
it likes and sticks to it.  It does not matter if this fish is popular,

But it doesn't seem want to eat the stuff that my cichilds eat. Any
advice?

Water Changes and Nitrates14 Aug 2006 06:47 GMT11
I have a large tank with a light fish load. My nitrates are around
10PPM. Do you need to do a water change with such low nitrates?
When I had a heavier load I would water change enough to keep nitrates
below 40ppm but since my load is lighter the levels of nitrate are
White cloud with persistant Columnaris14 Aug 2006 06:40 GMT6
Hi all and my thanks beforehand for any assistance here. About a month
a go I noticed a very small, cottony looking patch on one of my white
clouds. I immediately quarantined him and after googling columnaris
gave the following medications:
Sucker fish too aggressive10 Aug 2006 07:32 GMT5
I have a 20 gal tank with 3 tetras and a sucker fish.  It is gold, but don't
know the name, I think Chinese sucker fish.  There are also some snails in
the tank.
I bought the sucker fish and it was fine for a month.  Now, however, the
Guppy not eating10 Aug 2006 07:11 GMT6
I have one female guppy that nibbles at food but always spits it out.  All
the other guppies are attacking the food like sharks.  This specific fish
doesn't hide, but hardly moves compared to the other, quite active, gups.
It doesn't appear to be injured and it doesn't appear to ...
Just fish, no bull10 Aug 2006 06:55 GMT5
There is another newsgroup that had to be created because some people

Are there such creatures around?  I'd like to have some koi in a large
tank in my home, but not if I have to build a swimming pool-

Overcrowding10 Aug 2006 06:41 GMT3
There are two basic warnings that even most beginning hobbyists have
heard: don't overfeed, and don't overcrowd. And yet many aquarists, of all
levels of experience, have a natural tendency to try to squeeze "just a
couple more" fish into their already heavily stocked tanks.
overstock question10 Aug 2006 06:34 GMT3
I currently have a 2.5 gallon aquarium setup with a Betta, and 3 cCory
Cats.  The Cory Cats average 3/4 of an inch.  the Betta is about 2
inches.  I have a Red Sea nano Mini Filter running on it currently.
Just yesterday I purchased an Aqua Clear mini/20 to run on this tank as
Post Partuim Platy10 Aug 2006 06:30 GMT4
Ever since my platy delivered her numbers of fry, She's seeks shelter
near the bottom under foliage leaves.  Her dorsal fin stays down  alot
and her appetite doesn't match her mate's.
From a closer inspection, her profile is now more of a bowed shape,
Question on Changing Filter Types10 Aug 2006 06:27 GMT10
Came home to find all my fish at the top of the tank again and the filter
not working. Second time in three months. Filter motor was so hot I could
barely touch it. Fire hazard IMO. So I decided to change filters. The tank
is a 20 gal with mollies, swords, loaches, a plec, tetras ...

Don't waste your time following me to other NGs -ED.  You already told me
about the "parlor games" being played here while I helped you learn the
ropes to avoid losing your ISP service, and helped you deal with Roy Hauer.
You wont drive me off either, even though you are a ...
Argh! Tetra Disease09 Aug 2006 11:33 GMT6
My 55 gal has been hit with NTD, Cardinals and Glowlights all gone, only
my little zebra danios left. Do I have any other options to rid my tank
of this disease short of tearing it all down?
